Black Phone was dumb... sorry
What about Psycho; Id also throw Silence of the Lambs in the mix... trying to remember Event Horizon and if it'd be "too soon" for 12...
Aliens is good though-
I went into it as an 18 year old on a date. I guess I didn't get the memo, as I just remember hearing it was a "psychological thriller". I was not prepared for some of those scenes AT ALL. No movie has even come close to scaring me as much as that one did. A couple days later, I was early to move into Dunn Hall, so it was often very empty and quiet. Not gonna lie, I was freaked out walking those hallways alone at night sometimes.Aggies76 said:
I think The Sixth Sense is one of the best "horror" movies ever made.

That original movie was the first one that we let our daughter watch when she was pretty young, maybe 5 or so. She thought it was great, and never had any issues after watching it.Froppe said:
The Haunting of Hill House
The original, from the '60s, not the remake. A classic "scary" movie.

12 year old? Show them scary movie!
I really liked Skeleton Key, it is a bit of a slow-burn for traditional horror, but a great flick.RightWingConspirator said:
Skeleton Key and Oculus would be my choices. My daughter is a big horror genre fan and she really liked both.
