The first three episodes just dropped, I gave the first two a shot last night, and it's a pretty good watch so far. Nothing groundbreaking or knee-slapping hilarious, but enjoyable for sure. It's from writer/director Nicholas Stoller, who also did Forgetting Sarah Marshall and the Neighbors movies (hence the Byrne/Rogen reunion), and feels about in line with those types of comedies, though not quite as broad. I'd say it also has a bit of a Love on Netflix vibe, with some My Idiot Brother elements sprinkled in as well. Seth Rogen is of course playing his usual self, which I know isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I really like him here (and in general), so your mileage may vary. Overall, though, with half-hour episodes it's a light, easy watch that's probably worth your time if you're into any of the previously mentioned titles...

Apple TV+

Is it just a coincidence that both Seth Rogen and Jason Segel found their way to a new Apple TV+ series this year?

The wife and I blew through the first five episodes last Saturday night...now we wait. It's an easy watch and we're both enjoying it.

I've kept up with this since the release date but didn't know there was a thread on it.

I was in third grade because I was 8

All caught up, with the finale coming next week.

Have really enjoyed this season and am hoping it gets renewed.

Rose Byrne is so amazing and pretty sure she always does a fake accent

she was also in the Apple series about the jazzercise videos in the 1970s which was excellent

she is super hot but too skinny.

You'd be hard-pressed to find anyone on this board who didn't love Shrinking, another AppleTV+ comedy series that released earlier this year, starring Jason Segal and Harrison Ford. Seriously, once the season really kicked into gear, it was one of the few seemingly unanimously loved things I've ever seen on this board. While two completely different shows, it and Platonic are very much of the same ilk, both really charming, really well done half-hour comedies from Apple, each taking place in the LA area, each consisting of ten-episode first seasons. You could almost knock them out back-to-back, and then follow them up with the current season of The Righteous Gemstones for dessert.

There's also the second season of The Bear, which just released, and is my pick for best season of the year, which I don't see being topped in the next six months, it was that good. If you didn't see season one, I would highly recommend catching up.

Apple TV+

I was just thinking about this show the other day. I had assumed it was a one and done. Glad to see another season

Finally caught up with season two (through the first five episodes so far) and it's a lot of fun overall. Some preposterous hijinks and ridiculously forced situations, no doubt, but I find myself laughing more at this season than I did last.

If nothing else, it's worth watching to see what incredibly awful clothing combination Rogan has on each episode.

Watched the season 2 finale last night, thought it wrapped everything up well, while leaving it open in case there is a 3rd season.

TCTTS or anyone else that lives in LA: are those little robot things that Rogen always attacks real? If so, what do they do?
