I know The Garden wasn't the last song they ever played. Just the last song on their last album.

And Working Man would have had to be last since R40 went in reverse thru their catalog (although technically In The Mood opens their debut album).

It is hard to believe it's been 8 years. At $300 you got a steal.

Rime of the Ancient Mariner from the Iron Maiden album Powerslave. Epic song.

I took a Masters of Literature class in college and the instructor had played some songs that were inspired by famous works, mostly poems.

He had not heard that Rime had been put to music when I asked if he had heard the Iron Maiden version and he asked me to bring it to play for the class.

I brought the CD. He brought a jambox. We listened. It's a long song.

He was not impressed.

I love the song in the OP and tons of other great ones posted.

This is the perfect ending to a perfect album imo:

Lot of great choices on the thread. I have to throw in one from one of my favorite albums of the 90's.

I'd put this one up there as well, especially considering it's only played in the encore position at old GD shows. Got this as the encore at two different Dead & Co shows in Dallas and Woodlands.

Appropriately named. Ironically ended up being the last track with Layne Staley. Always liked this song especially the unplugged version

Didn't they have 2 one offs released later on with him?

Get Born Again I believe was one.

Regardless, I still consider that the last "album" and final song for sure.

Would make a fantastic EXIT piece for Kyle Field.

I do love the closing song of Pearl Jam's Ten album. Just a great wave of music. Feels like such a natural ending to an album too.

When I saw the Who with a 30 piece orchestra at the Hollywood Bowl last fall, "Love Reign o'er Me" was the absolute highlight and the song I was looking forward to most (also because I love PJ and their version). Nice call.

Manchester Orchestra always closes their albums with bangers:

Colly Strings - I'm Like a Virgin Losing a Child
The River - Mean Everything to Nothing
Leaky Breaks - Simple Math
The Silence - A Black Mile to the Surface

It's like all my favorite MO songs.

Yeah, $300 was a bargain.

I paid $1200 to sit in the outfield at Dodger Stadium and watch the Astros lose game 6 in the 2017 WS.
