Turned this on tonight for something to watch while eating dinner.

Good Lord. The chase scenes. The stunts. The pyro effects. The special effects for that time. And some of the effects still today.

The acting, even.

What a ride.

Compare the opening of that movie to the similar sequences from the original. Talk about night and day difference in quality.

Still one of my favorites movies. 12-13 year old me was in awe at the time.

Then add in the GNR "You Could Be Mine" song/video is icing on the cake

Saw this in the theater in College Station when it came out. Great movie and still hold up well on rewatch. The one scene where the bad Terminator walks out of the burning truck in the canal chase was the most expensive scene ever filmed for several years afterwards.

A detail I noticed tonight that I did not recall - when the T-1000 rides the police bike into Cyberdyne, he goes thru some flames.

The front fender of that bike stays aflame as he rides up the stairs.

Bonus stunt is the SWAT van skidding sideways for a better exit as it enters the building.

The dirt bike/big rig/Harley chase.

The SWAT van/helicopter chase, including the chopper going under that overpass. At night.

The liquid nitrogen truck and the S-10.

Arnold with "the damn mini-gun" taking out all the police cars.

The effect of Arnold showing Dyson and wife his arm - sans skin.

Linda Hamilton was amazing in that movie. And worked out like a fiend to get in shape for it. She plays that part so well.

Robert Patrick is just so freaking creepy with how cold he plays that character.

T2 is a masterpiece but I still love 1, even with it's horrible Arnold animatronic. It's got a certain charm. And great scripts always shine through.

I say I prefer Terminator 1 but I think I'm just being contrarian. T2 might be the perfect action movie.

I love T2, but T1 is one of my top 10 movies of all time. I rewatched both back to back about a month ago, and despite the outdated effects, I still like the original more.

They are two different types of movies. T1 is basically a slasher horror movie where T2 is a full blown action movie. Both are great. Too bad none of the other movies were that great. I wish Sarah Connor Chronicles had been given a better chance. Thought that show was pretty good.

Yeah, T1 is more suspense, which I prefer, and T2 is action. As action movies go, it's just about perfect.

Imo the 3 greatest sequels of all time are : Godfather II, Empire, and T2. Whatever order (mine is GF II as #1 but I'm very biased).

Thank you!!
Came here to post GF2.

But yeah T2 is badass. Saw it in the theater when I was 17. There some movies you always remember seeing in the theater. Who you were with, etc.
this is definitely one of them for me.

The Arnold Harley sequence in the tunnels is just so damn good. Also the stunt driver looks just like Arnold when he makes the jump into the tunnel, in slow motion no less.

Yes, the kid stunt double appears to be at least 18 but that's a small quibble as you can't really have young stunt actors as I'm sure that's a violation.

It is my favorite movie and as mentioned above, perfect in my eyes. But more than anything, Robert Patrick's portrayal of the T1000 is the best antagonist a screen has ever seen. He WAS the Terminator. Incredible acting and presence.

The theater erupted with laughter when that scene played.

Too bad I had not seen T2 yet and didn't get the joke!
