I remember this being a thing in the 80s and I never understood it. I remember my dad's friends telling them. Of course they have all been recycled as Aggie or whatever jokes. But, it seemed like a thing in the 80s. Anyone else remember that?

I had a Polack roommate at A&M and we used to really like cracking Polack/German jokes at each other. But one time we were in this dive bar and I popped one off. Big mistake. This big guy a couple of seats over came over to our table. You could tell he was drunk, and pretty upset.

He got to the table, and pulled out a razor, pointed it at me very threateningly, and told me that he was Polish and didn't appreciate it. Thank God it was electric.

I just remember this joke from the episode where Tim Whatley converts to Judaism and not getting it. I'd never heard a Polish joke and couldn't understand the connection.

I also remember "dead baby" jokes in the 80s. And I can't believe I found them funny. And no, I'm not going to tell a dead baby joke.

I have a friend from Eastern Europe and they use relatively the same jokes to make fun of other ethnic groups. I guess it's just a human thing.

Yeah these were quite the thing in the 70's and 80's. I read that it originated from the fact that at one point the polish legislature needed complete unanimous assent to pass any bills, like 317 people. Which is crazy.
The dead baby jokes were way over the top too. They were like "what do you call a dead baby with no arms and no legs on your doorstep"? "Matt".
