Edit... actually an Easter egg. When I saw it in the theater, I shouted out "The Krull" ... was prob. the only one in the theater that knew what it was. :-)

The Krull glaive in Ready Player One.

"The Glaive is a mystical five-pointed weapon used by Colwyn in the 1983 science fantasy movie Krull. As the Iron Giant is being shot into the ravine, Sho selects the weapon and throws it dismembering I-r0k's arm."

Todd Phillips does too.
He was the creepy guy on the bus in Road Trip, the guy in the elevator in The Hangover, and the guy who was there for the gang bang in old school.

Loved that in RP1. I had already made my kids watch Krull so they actually caught the relevance of it. Absolutely love that weapon.

Steven Spielberg can be seen sitting on the couch through a reflection on the TV at the end of The Lost World.

And while not a movie, this Larry David appearance in Seinfeld is great.

Can you really call that a cameo if he's not famous yet?

How about Stone using using cameo to play the real-life nemesis of the hero:

Jim Garrison as Earl Warren
Larry Flynt as the Judge who convicts Larry Flynt

Or Stone himself in the grapevine montages in Wall Street

Jimmy Fallon in Band of Brothers (Jeep driver with supplies)

the actual Jordan Belfort as the hype guy for Dicaprio in Wolf of Wall Street. Not really a hidden cameo, but this thread has kind of gone off those rails.

As far as "hidden" cameos, I kind of like the Collectors prizes in Guardians of the Galaxy. Some pretty funny stuff in those scenes if you pay attention.

Super timely and meta:

Pee Wee Herman as a hidden cameo in the Pee Wee Herman-inspired movie in Pee Wee's Big Adventure.

It wasn't hidden to us, but would be to the movie audience that didn't know him.

Speaking of Pee-wee, Paul Reubens in Batman Returns. He wasn't exactly hidden, but most people had no idea that was him.
