Arnold Schwartz
Tom Hanks
Chris Farley
Adam Sandler
Jack Black
Eddie Murphy
John Candy
Dan Aykroyd
Bill Murray
Robin Williams
Chris Rock
The Rock

Some great choices to debate!

  • Jim Carrey - Dumb & Dumber
  • Mike Meyers - Austin Powers
  • Robert DeNiro - That's a tough one.
  • Arnold Schwartz - Terminator
  • Tom Hanks - The Burbs (I kid I kid... another tough one. Apollo 13?)
  • Chris Farley - Tommy Boy
  • Adam Sandler - Happy Gilmore
  • Jack Black - School of Rock
  • Eddie Murphy - Coming To America
  • John Candy - Uncle Buck
  • Dan Aykroyd - Ghostbusters
  • Bill Murray - Ghostbusters
  • Robin Williams - Tough one
  • Chris Rock - No clue
  • The Rock - Honestly no clue, maybe the Fast franchise is the answer.

  • I put in bold the more difficult ones for me.

Coppola - Godfather (this one is so difficult)
    Russo Brothers - Marvel Movies
    Peter Jackson - LOTR
    Shamalamadingdong - The Sixth Sense

    James Earl Jones... Darth Vader

For me, anytime I think of James Earl Jones I think of The Sandlot

Who you got for Samuel L Jackson?

It's either Pulp Fiction, or Snakes on a Plane to me.

I think his most recognizable character at this point is Nick Fury, but if it's what individual movie do you most associate him with, I'm not sure which Marvel movie you would pick.

Jim Carrey - Dumb & Dumber
Mike Myers - Austin Powers International Man of Mystery
    Robert DeNiro - Casino
    Arnold Schwartz - Terminator 2
    Tom Hanks - Forrest Gump
    Chris Farley - Tommy Boy
    Adam Sandler - Happy Gilmore
    Jack Black - Nacho Libre
    Eddie Murphy - Trading Places
    John Candy - Home Alone
    Dan Aykroyd - Ghost Busters
    Bill Murray - Ghost Busters
Robin Williams - Dead Poets Society
Chris Rock - I honestly have no idea
    The Rock - Mummy 2

I tried to do live action movies, but I think Robin Williams as the Genie is more iconic and Eddie Murphy as Donkey in Shrek is a pretty close second (not to mention Beverly Hills Cop)

a decent list. only 3 had the same answer for all 3 responses
Surprised no one sees mike myers as Wayne. That's what made him, and that's how I was exposed to him, so that's how I see him still to this day, but austin powers is def a strong second.

Thought of another few; Gary Oldman (dracula, true romance, 5th element, harry potter, batmans)
Chris tucker (friday, 5th element, rush hour??)
Bruce Willis (pulp fiction, die hard, armageddon)
Woody (white men, larry flint, natural born killers, lots of others

I think that Austin Powers as a character has had much more staying power than Wayne. I could be biased though, as my SO and I still get a kick out of Austin Powers humor/phrases.

Gary Oldman - What about The Professional? Air Force One? I'd actually lean towards TDK/Nolan Batman films over these in terms of what people might know him for now.

Chris Tucker - Very tough call. Think it's between Rush Hour and Friday.

Bruce Willis - Die Hard, hands freaking down

Woody Harrelson - That's tough. Kingpin?

Tom Hanks - Forrest Gump probably, but I'd go with Apollo 13 or Saving Private Ryan

Eddie Murphy - Beverly Hills Cop
John Candy - Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

    Bill Murray - Caddyshack
Robin Williams - tough one for me. Peter Pan or Adrian Cronauer.
Chris Rock - New Jack City
The Rock - Maui (sp) - animated role that likely had far bigger impact across a larger spectrum of people than anything else he has done
