Wife and I started watching this on Peacock. I remember my dad watching this and laughing his head off when I was younger.

Now that I'm older, I absolutely love this show. I think Jerry Stiller's character, Arthur Spooner might be the most underrated and funny character in sitcom history.

Also, Leah Remini is a wonderful actress and a total smoke show in the early seasons! A lot of nostalgia and laughs in this one.

Great show, lots of funny moments and Leah Remini was hot in the first few seasons.

I have said this before and I'll say it forever but it is actually one of the most underrated comedies of our time.

I also think that it stayed pretty strong throughout its entire run (I wasn't crazy about the 2 part finale, but I guess it tied up some loose ends and wasn't unfunny).

I absolutely love this show and to me it may not get the same love Seinfeld, All in the Family, Cheers, etc get but it absolutely belongs in the same arena with those programs and it had individual shows that were funnier than some individual shows of those other more recognized shows like the ones mentioned.

Show is absolute greatness. Unfortunately Kevin James could never become another character or leverage into better movie roles. But that's ok, being known as Doug Heffernan is enough. Freaking legend.

I remember when this show came out I intentionally avoided it. I can't remember why. Maybe because the name of the show kind of makes it sound dumb. Anyways, I missed the first couple of seasons, but then I saw an episode and loved it. I knew immediately I was missing out.

Also, Jerry Stiller is great in everything.

The apartment they had been on the waiting list for for years opens up in Manhattan. Carrie wants to move, Doug doesn't, they get to the brink of a divorce over it, then adopt a baby instead and stay in Queens and Carrie also finds out she's pregnant. They fast forward a year and they are happily juggling 2 kids and Arthur.

Still my all-time favorite. The wife and I loved watching it for years. Only time I've ever bought all the DVDs.

And yea, Arthur was an amazingly funny character. What's crazy is knowing he was talking so much **** to his wife in those shows. We didn't find out about that till later. Makes it even funnier.

Eta: speaking of Leah, on rewatching it, she clearly found her groove by the second season and on. That first one, they were writing her too nice and sweet. As soon as she turned into a sassy, catty pistol to pair with simple man Doug, it caught fire.

I'd love to see a spinoff show where Carrie's sister and Chuck Cunningham fall in love and start a life together where they are never to be mentioned again.

I watched bits and pieces of this show when it first ran. I found it funny, but I'm not sure why I didn't watch it regularly. Jerry Stiller was great in it.

I remember the episode where Doug and Carrie are role-playing an Italian couple they know. It then cuts to the Italian couple bickering like a couple of old people.

Ha!

This show is vastly underrated. The writers were pretty savvy in giving Jerry Stiller all the best lines.

Cue The Margie Song.

Another sitcom brilliant enough to give Bryan Cranston a recurring role.

Yes! My favorite show of all time. I've watched it so much I can recite the dialog line by line.

Arthur Spooner is Frank Costanza on steroids, and a main character, too. Too many people overlook KoQ.

Plus, Kevin James and Leah Remini just have great chemistry.

Omg, the Margie episode is probably a top 5 for me.

Not only was the writing funny, but the fact that her name was pronounced Mar ghee instead of the normal Marjee in itself made me laugh so much.

so continuing on the same thread- the series that Kevin James starred in over the last few years "Kevin Can Wait".

I actually watched that one and never saw King of Queens.

his original wife was Errin Hayes (total babe and super cool on her IG)

and then in the second season she was just killed off by "oops she was in a car accident in the off season"

and then replaced eventually by... Leah Remini.

So many great side characters and guest stars, too.

Out of the blue, Lou Ferrigno moves next door and no one bats an eye.

I remember why I wasn't into it. Early on, it was kind of lost in the shuffle of sitcoms with big dopey funny guys married to smart *****y smoke shows. It got better as it went on, and went deeper into the characters than most of those types of sitcoms do.

Spence is talking to Lou at a party, telling him how he wants to work out, just not get too big.

"I'd like Greg Louganis' body," he says.

"I bet you would," deadpans Lou.

I really enjoyed it.

but maybe because I never saw King of Queens.

I mean how different can two sitcoms be

with a fat lovable loser married to a hottie smoke show babe he would never get in real life if it wasn't millionaire Kevin James?

Their neighbor Glen (played by the always funny Tim Bagly) is a counselor who is helping them find better ways of communicating, since they always resort to name-calling.

As part of this, he asks them to create a list of "escalator words" -- words they use against each other when arguing that take the fight to a higher level.
