July 2021 and his show was awesome. He's still got a lot of energy and can't imagine it's changed much in two years.

I'm a big fan but the last time I saw him last year was kinda disappointing. His voice is definitely not as good, and he had his band play and sing a number of covers of other country songs. It's still fun to see him I guess, but he's not like he used to be. Who of us is though?

If you haven't read his book At Home with the Armadillo, I suggest you do. Fascinating story about his life and the start of the Texas music scene.
