Everything about these big shows is targeted to the audience they think will make them the most money. Unfortunately, anything political brings the clicks/views these days. I'm sure these late night shows have all sorts of research that points to leaning one side means more revenue. Sometimes it misses, sometimes it doesn't.Definitely Not A Cop said:
Most late night hosts now don't write political jokes to make people laugh anymore. They write political jokes for applause. This goes both ways.
That's the biggest issue.
I find it kind of funny that we have all agreed that reality TV is fake and purely manufactured to get the most engagement from their audience. But when it comes to late night, comedy, movies, etc. we still hold on to this idea that it isn't just a facade to make the most money possible.
