Who's going? I'm going to the San Antonio gig. Anyone seen them before?

Saw them in Houston on the "not in this lifetime" reunion tour. It was exactly what i wanted. I know Axl can't hit all the high notes anymore but it was a great show.

Seen them twice since they reunited and both were great (and long) shows. Would probably be going again if the Houston show wasn't at Minute Maid.

Pro tip- be on time. Axl has given up his old, tardy ways and they generally go on stage right on time.

Saw them in 2017 in Houston. Great show. 3 hours of unbridled GnR. I don't think Slash left the stage once. The only knock was Billy Gibbons trying to learn "Patience" on the fly. Absolutely horrible.

I'd be going this time but the closest shows are weeknight shows and I live too far away.

Can't post youtube link for some reason. Go look it up.

this'll be my 3rd. saw them in 17 and 18.

17 went w a bunch of buddies and they blew the doors off - slash ruled. i think there was some deal about slash having just got divorced and needed the $, so it seemed like he negotiated terms that got him basically his own stage - it was more like GNR playing back up for slash - which was awesome; pretty much incessant power stances.

18, we took the wives, had dinner, was casually late arriving - and walked in as estranged was wrapping up - huge regret. 18 underwhelmed a little, but was a disappointing start to the show.

we're doing it right this time - no wives, starting at the bar at 3pm - and with AiC opening we'll definitely be on time. stoked.

Wife and I are going to the SA show on the 26th. Got our t-shirts already.

Last time I saw GNR was summer of 92 when they toured with Metallica.

Wife and I will be in SA. This will be the third time we have seen them since they reunited. Always enjoyed the shows. They play damn near 2.5 hours if I remember right.

Will be going to the SA show. I'm 43 and I've never been to anything like this. I love live music and we go to smaller dance hall shows at least monthly but I've never been interested in big arena shows until this one. Can't wait!

About to grab 200 level aisle seat tickets for my 12 year old son and me. Never seen them live. I know Axl doesn't sound great anymore but it's a bucket list/bonding type show.

Plus the tickets I was eyeing yesterday that were $85 are now just $65 today.

Seems like they are struggling a bit to sell tickets. Plenty of floor and even pit tickets available at retail. Tempted to wait even longer but want to secure aisle seats to give me son a good sightline.

No idea if it's true but when they first started touring again, there was a rumor that there was a provision in Axl's contract that reduced his nightly share if he didn't go on on time.

May also just be old age.

It's called Gen X parents don't stay out until 2:00 AM anymore. 6:00 PM works just fine for me thank you.

We saw Def Leppard and Crue in Vegas about a year ago. Missed most of Joan Jett, didn't pay attention to Poison. Def Leppard put on an amazing show, honestly. Bu they were on stage around 7:30, done around 9:00. Perfect. Only made it thru about four songs from Crue and called it a night.

I feel like to get the true GnR experience, they need to start at least an hour and a half late, play 5 songs, and then Axl yells something at the crowd, maybe fight a dude, and then say, "F you <city name>!" Drop the mic and walk off stage.

Now that you mention it, at the Houston show @Reliant there was a time when his piano stopped working or there was a bad faulty key or something and they stopped for a bit and I'm sure everyone felt like I did..."holy crap, he's gonna lose his mind and we might get to see a famous Axl meltdown" but he kinda laughed/shrugged it off and they picked up the song and finished it. No riots or f bombs. As a 40+ year old man I appreciated that. As a lifelong GNR fan who wanted the Jungle...yeah I was kinda disappointed.

Daddy works in porno
Now that mommy's not around
She used to love her heroine
But now she's underground
So you stay up late at night
and you do your drugs for free

Were you cautiously looking for the nearest exits like I was? I wanna say it was during one of the piano lead parts in "November Rain" and if I recall correctly he kinda laughed and shrugged it off after a tech tried to fix it and for the rest of the song he just wouldn't hit that key .

I was also there having the same thoughts. Disappointed and relieved. For the record (I do keep records on concerts, no pun intended), that concert started at 9:52 pm and ended at 12:29 am.

Was there too, as was another TA poster sitting next to me. We looked at each other, and then were like, oh wow, it really is a new Axl.

So, the story I heard was the girl My Michelle is about complained that Axl never had never written a song about her... so he did.

I'd say It's So Easy is the height of their poetry:

I see you standin' there…
You think you're so cool
Why don't you just…
**** off!
Ya get nothin' for nothin'
If that's what ya do
Turn around ***** I got a use for you
Besides you ain't got nothin' better to do
And I'm bored

We are going to the SA show tomorrow at the Alamodome. Never been to a big show like this. Tickets just say 6:00pm. Any idea what time they might be likely to start?

Same question for the Houston show, which also has a 6 pm start time. I thought that was the "gates open" time, but now I'm thinking maybe not. I was joint to eat before the show.
