I just got an email from Live Nation for the Minute Maid show:

Main Box Office: 2:00
Lots Open: 2:00
Gates Open: 4:30
Show Beings: 6:00

Where do you all plan on parking? I was going to aim for lots by soccer stadium.

We were also there and couldn't believe he got through the song - rewatched the video because I couldn't remember what he said but it was great at the time "I don't mind any ghosts or gremlins but they should at least learn the f'in song"

So GnR on between 7-730?

Yep. I didn't pay attention but I think they came on around 7:15 tonight here in SA. Alice In Chains was great!

Came on right at 730 like clovkwork, still playing at 1007 when I had to leave

Axl's vocals aren't what they used to be but after the first few songs they really started firing and sounded good. Slash was insane! All in all they played a legit 3 hour high energy show. Incredible!

Hadn't gotten that far, yet. I would like to eat at Phoenicia Specialty Foods before the show, but I don't think we will be able to stay parked there all night. With the tight time frame, we may have to rethink our plan.

What time did AIC come on, and how long was their set?

Tried to win tickets to this show on the radio earlier but didn't win. They are probably nosebleed seats anyway.

AIC came on right at 6 and played 1 hour exactly. GNR came on right at 730 and was over around 1030. AIC was great. I thought Axl voice has deteriorated since I saw him in SA the first time abs last time in Houston. Took them 2-3 songs to get the mic and sound right in the Alamodome. Played their two new songs. Just so hard for him to get the classic songs to hit right because they are meant for high pitched Axl, not 25 years older Axl. I get it for sure but seemed even harder to hit the notes this time around. Slash and Duff on fire though. My wife was nudging me saying "I've never heard this song before" multiple times throughout the set lol

Man, they added to denver to this tour, but it doesn't show AIC opening.

I'm on fence with GnR, but with AIC opener I think i'd def. go. Plus it's a friday, so can maybe convince wife to bring the boys for their first concert.

It's funny I was just watching the latest Beato episode with "Pantera"
Zakk was talking about how if Dime played the solo to no more tears, it could be the exact same notes and such, but it's still gonna sound like Dime.

I'll be damned if I couldn't know that was slash playing Layla if you didn't tell me and I just heard it.

Great show!

We got there about 2-3 songs into AIC. I was never a big AIC fan but still knew every song they played. Their lead singer has a great voice and is a great mix of sounding like Layne while also having his own sound. They were LOUD though. The music overpowered the vocals a lot.

Guns were amazing. I knew I would enjoy myself musically but was amazed at Axl. I was fully prepared for his voice to stink but he sounded great if you ask me. His voice is unique and even in the 90s was known to be hit or miss live, so considering he's 61 he sounded great. He seems like he's really made an effort to get healthy and take care of himself and it shows. 3 hours straight and loved it! Also the mix was much better than AIC. Vocals much clearer.

Interesting take… maybe it just depends where you are sitting in the stadium. I thought AIC was clean/sounded quite good… very loud but when acoustics suck, blast through it. Fine by me.

When GNR hit the stage, to me it felt less powerful, vocals echoing badly, awful for at least three songs and then they slowly seemed to rein it in. After how powerful and impressive AIC sounded (to me at least), the early part of the GNR was a bit of a disappointment. Still enjoyed it overall however.

Yeah I posted the same thing above after the Alamodome show. The vocals were terrible for the first several GnR songs but then it got much better the rest of the show.

as someone who has seen AIC about a dozen times in 8 or so unique venues big and small, they always sound perfect. Vocals are always really clear, and they are tight as hell.

We saw that show in Houston with the faulty piano and loved it! Seeing them Friday with Iron Maiden opening PowerTrip and cannot wait!

i was gonna say, radio tickets are usually really good, they don't give out nosebleeds.

I won nosebleeds to a Rush show on the Clockwork Angels tour. It happens.

Had some radio gimme tix to Tom Petty at the Summit on the "Last DJ" tour in '05 or so and they upgraded us to floor tix because the section the freebies were obstructed view or whatever.
