Full series is on Hulu and I wasn't allowed to watch it as a kid.

The back and forth between Bruce Willis and Cybil Shephard is great!

Many years ago, to accompany our study of Romeo and Juliet, I would show one of the episodes to my 9th grade classes: "Atomic Shakespeare"

It's a loose retelling of "The Taming of the Shrew." It's done in period costumes and a sort of iambic pentameter.

Pretty funny.

That would be a good thread topic. To each their own, but I really dig some old series like the Mentalist or Friday Night Lights. They all serve a purpose.

Moonlighting is a good call.

Our English teacher showed this episode in class. I had completely forgotten about it until now!

The book that Bruce Willis is reading in the pilot was written by the mother of one of my best friends growing up.

I watched Hill Street Blues earlier this year, and I highly recommend giving that series a shot…

Sadly it is now a forgotten series, it was crazy popular for a few years.
The off the wall plots., Miss Dipsto, The banter between Dave and Maddie, the amazing guest stars, the music they pulled in…was the best thing on tv for a while.

My wife has been watching The Golden Girls and that shows is freaking brilliant. Highly recommend.

Also, it never dawned on me now much Cybil Shepherd looks like Captain Marvel.

Not necessarily "old," but I love the
"Golden age" of USA type shows like Burn Notice, Numbers, Royal Pains,Mentalist, White Collar etc. Psych is all-time, but falls in this category too. Monk...

These shows were good clean fun, smart, and rewatchable. Their casts were so talented and usually multigenerational.

Loved that show. The theme song was used in our wedding video back in 1987.

The writing was fabulous, the banter fun, and the storylines and characters unique. Sadly, they ruined the show when they consummated the relationship between David and Maddie. The sexual tension and banter helped make the show. When that changed, it ruined it (IMO).

That would make a good thread I think? Great shows that were ruined by an unfortunate plot twist and never the same thereafter.

I can see it now that you mention it, but their personalities kept me from noticing on my own. Cybil has a sparkling personality to go along with her gorgeous looks…

I enjoyed Moonlighting in my early teens and have never seen even of a minute of it since, I might like the nostalgic trip on Hulu - didn't know it was streaming anywhere.

I was flipping channels over a month ago and stopped on a re-airing of The Rockford Files on some low budget network, watched the whole episode - not even sure why, the show was originally on before my TV watching days. I guess there is some nostalgia as far as how the show looks, how it was acted, the pacing and the plots so typical of shows back then. I've actually watched 3 or 4 more episodes since then. Odd.

And speaking of Cybil Shepherd, I just watched the movie The Heartbreak Kid after going down a youtube rabbit hole of Charles Grodin Letterman appearances. The Heartbreak Kid is Shepherd's first or second movie, and it was released the year I was born. Man, is it dated - hard to look at and not realize I'm becoming ancient.
