Its been really good to see Axe back and the shifting of Chuck and Prince's personnas.

I'm watching it the same way I watched the final episodes of the walking dead.


Word to the wise for anyone starting this series: this show ended when Axe crossed the pond in exile.

Axe, indeed, was ... and is ... the primary reason for watching.

It really sucked when Axe left, but count me as a Chuck fan.

It's interesting that they are waiting until the last episode for the flash-forward opening scene of the season of Mike's blowup on Wendy.

The Axe and Prince faceoff moments ... the best of the Axe and Chuck faceoff moments ... take me back to the quality in the faceoff moments between Raylon Givens and Boyd Crowder.

That kind of entertainment is worth watching.

I'm glad they got Axe back for at least a few episodes. MTAP can't carry the show anywhere near the way he can.

Lots of satisfying farewell conversations as things came to a close.

I gave up on this show when Axe left, but jumped back in for the last 4 episodes. Was glad I did. Didn't have the whole Prince history as to why he was a villain, but wasn't exactly a complicated story to jump back into

Glad this show is over. Tried to give up on it when they stopped halfway through season 5 during Covid because it just wasn't that good by that point. Since the end was near, I figured I'd give it one more shot.

Spoilers below:

Sacker was even more terrible on the Prince team. She can give Claire Danes in Homeland a run for her money where dumb faces are concerned.

Phillip was a paper thin character and brought absolutely nothing to the show (except he filled a quota).

The whole Wendy/shrink storyline was a waste.

Taylor remained pretty good as the show dwindled. Surprisingly.

Axe coming back to confront Prince before his dinner was about the only good thing about the season. He should have at least had to do some ridiculous favor for someone to get his name cleared.

And Connerty working the hibachi was awesome.

I only sparingly watched a few of the later-season episodes.

What made everyone in Prince's inner circle think they needed to stop him from becoming POTUS? Did I miss it or was it just added for drama?

Prince being some kind of supervillain was really thin plot wise. It was also disgusting how they glorified the SNYD attorney constantly going after the person vs the crime. Was there a single constitutional prosecution portrayed throughout the entire series?

They kept telling us Prince was bad, but did a poor job in my opinion of showing he was bad. That is just poor storytelling in my opinion. Sure it was fun seeing everyone come together to take him down, but the team mission just wasn't inspiring. Prince was just a driven individual with normal human flaws in my opinion. I have flaws, I hope that doesn't mean federal appointees should shred the constitution in an attempt to find crimes I may or may not have committed.

Chuck was a much more flawed human and somehow got the protagonist treatment. He should have been portrayed as above reproach or gone down as the antagonist IMO. Earlier seasons were more honest in showing everyone as flawed and of questionable character.
