Watched this last night. First off, I did not know this was remake. So, I went in totally blind. Just randomly picked it.

It's basically a one set play. The acting by Keifer Sutherland, Monica Raymond, Jason Clarke, and Lance Reddick in a post-humous release was stellar.

For those that don't know, the movie is a court-martial recounting the events surrounding a EXO taking command from a ships captain during a storm. I am amazed at how compelling this movie is given there are no flashbacks. Everything takes place in the tribunal room. So, you are essentially sitting as a jury as the trial plays out.

Highly recommend it.

The Caine Mutiny is a Pulitzer-Prize winning novel by Herman Wouk (1951). (Wouk also wrote The Winds of War among others).

A Broadway play was made from the book, followed by an excellent movie (1954) starring Humphrey Bogart in one of his most iconic roles.

The movie received seven Academy Award nominations, including Bogart for Best Actor; also Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor, Best Screenplay.

I look forward to this new version.

EDIT: Not impressed with the trailer.

There was a version in 1988 that was the courtroom only.

Caine Mutiny? I love Michael Caine. "Goodnight you princes of SeaLab, you kings of the ocean. People are always asking me, 'Whats it all about, Alfred?'"

so classic and so great

Bogart was such an enthralling personality he makes you really feel sorry for Captain Queeg

many of those officers were a disgrace.

The book was great, along with all of Wouk's books for the most part.
