Kid has been playing this game since 7-8?

Wants to go opening night.

My 9 year old son really wants to see this.

I had to buy tickets for my 14 year old and he said "I've been waiting 7-8 years for this movie!" Luckily he's old enough that he's going with one of his friends and I can just drop him off and then pick up.

There are LOTS of kids who love FNAF and I'm interested to see how well this movie does. Even if it's awful (how could it not lol) I bet it makes it's money back and then some.

Five Nights at Freddy's

An incredibly popular "jump scare" video game.

Basically an evil Chuck E Cheese pizza restaurant (Freddy Fazbear's Pizza) where they animatronics come to life at night and you have to survive the night guard shift for 5 nights.

You sit in a control room watching them, but you can't leave the doors locked all night or you lose power and it is over. So you watch videos and keep doors open until you realize one of the animatronics is moving and you have to close the door before they can get in and kill you.

Very popular over the last 9 years.

I'll be there Saturday with my 14 and 11 year olds. I've been steeped in Freddy's lore for going on 4 years now.

I have a 10 year old and two 8 year olds.

I have heard of this, just not by their acronym.

We don't play video games. But, I have seen the books/comics/whatever they are called.

My 13yo twin girls have are very excited for this movie; they've been waiting for years for it to come out.

We'll watch it on Peacock this weekend.

We watched the trailers for this movie and Disney's new Haunted Mansion; my girls thought HM looked to scary but FNAF looked great!

So is this like lightweight kiddie horror or the real deal?

I somehow missed that this was even a video game despite playing lots of games myself. Just not a horror person and my kids are too young.

When the movie previews started rolling out I figured someone adapted the Chuck E Cheese band into a low-budget horror flick.

For those who are familiar with the video game, what's it like? Is it appropriate for a 10-year kid and his 40something dad? There's some "core collection" Switch game on Amazon for $20, so if my kid (or I) would enjoy it, it may just be worth it.

I've never played the game myself, but I've watched my kids play it to see what all the fuss is and it's fairly tame. My youngest started playing it when she was 8 and it wasn't too intense for her.

Im not looking forward to the movie or anything but as a kid I spent many hours in Chuck E Cheese and Showbiz Pizza and I will admit to finding the premise amusing.

Lots of costumes and plushies and goth teens.

Ended up about 90% full.

It was funnier than I thought it would be.

I jumped a couple of times.

YouTubers had cameos.

Lots of applause at the end.

Nope

Benny was shocked he didn't.
Even I thought he would because he put the game and himself on the map with his videos

So it's like Willy's Wonderland?

Is this appropriate for 9 year olds? My son really wants to see this but I'm hesitant.
