Surprised there wasn't a thread on this, yet.

New Beatles song where they used an old mix that John was working on before his death.

I dig it.

The "making of" video is really good as well. Shows how they've been working on it. I guess that George technically doesn't play on this track, but Paul played "in George's style" which I believe he wrote during the first time they tried to do this song in the 90s.

Same here. The Youtube algorithm got me after watching too many World Series highlight videos.

This latest track just proves they should've broken up decades ago.

What a boring/meh song. And I say that as someone who was raised on and have a great appreciation of the Beatles.

I grew up with the Beatles. Their music is the soundtrack of an important chunk of my life.

They broke up in 1970. I was upset and didn't understand it.

There haven't been any Beatles recordings since then.

The song is what it is. Much more clear than the two songs from the 90s. The video and story are pretty cool. ESPN did a video last night using the song with clips of sports Now and Then that was well done especially for them (other than the clip of Megan Rapinoe).

I couldn't agree more. There's a reason why nothing was done with this song.

And this is someone who really really likes the Beatles.

It is very dull and static. Not much going on there.

Just sounds like a solo era John Lennon outtake, honestly.

I love the Beatles, but this really didn't ever need to see the light of day.

Kind of (well, not really) surprised by the hate from Texags, considering most of the critics love it.

"It's a bloody new Beatles song, shut up!"

It's obviously not in the discussion for best Beatles song ever, but it's still really good.

No, it is very blah.

I am huge Beatles fan, I'll probably forget this song exists in a few days. For every 2 cool things Peter Jackson does, there has to be one kinda lame thing and here we are.

This isn't lame compared to the Hobbit films.

It's a mediocre at best Beatles song.

That's not a knock on the Beatles. They were incredible song writers and managed to continually redefine their sound and still be great over the years. Truly amazing band that was the epitome of "the whole is greater than the sum of the parts".

This song is just very meh. It's good to hear their harmonies and voices together, but they could harmonize mein kampf and make it sound pleasing.

I'm a really big fan of The Beatles. This doesn't do much for me.

Maybe this is getting into semantics, but not really sure how we can call this a Beatles song.

100% of the work on this was done after the group disbanded. I kinda feel the same way about "Free as a Bird" (although at least that one had all four of them on it).

This one has all 4 of them on there too, but like Free as a Bird and Real Love, are they really Beatles songs? Kinda, I guess.

I've only listened to it in my phone so far so need to hear it on real speakers to make a call on it, but like others have said, it's cool how they did it, but the song itself didn't blow me away.

Just listened, it's OK. Sounds like a half-hearted song written by a 40 year old rocker, with added touches by 80 year old guys.

I wasn't expecting Revolution, so it's just OK.

Haven't listened to it yet, but I saw this pop up on my youtube feed. Rick goes over the technology they used to separate John's vocal and piano. Pretty interesting regardless of what you think about the song.

I first listened while watching the music video. I found the video to be sentimental, even a bit moving, if awkward at times. I enjoyed the humorous outtakes of the young Beatles in the video.

Looking forward to watching the 13 minute documentary soon.

I love the Beatles. This isn't their best, for sure. But, it's nice to hear.

I liked it. Think it's better than free as a bird and real love though I liked the acoustic tapes of real love. This song reminds me of a lot Lennons solo work before his death (I guess that's because it is) Chorus is really nice. The video is a little corny at times but it's really well done imo showing the past and present and intertwining them.

Agree the past Beatles being inserted was cool, but the insert choices made didn't seem to match the song or the modern scene.

I agree. I think the song isn't that great but if you cannot appreciate the emotional investment and comfort that comes from hearing a long dead family member come back to life, you really don't understand the human condition or what it means to be an artist.

They found a crappy recording and used AI to being someone back from the dead, along with another dead member, to genuinely make a new released 100% Beatle song with existing living members. It's an amazing feat and has a tremendous amount of potential for the future of just about everything we know in life. It's literally a pivotal milestone in human existence.

The first time I heard it I was underwhelmed, but after listening a little deeper I really like it for the audio production as much as anything else. I kinda geek out over that stuff though. It's REALLY well done.

Definitely one of those songs that I catch myself humming the tune without knowing it.
