The Pogues were my #2 according to Spotify. I first watch Shane as a kid with my dad on a VHS tape he did with The Dubliners. Dad liked the The Dubliners, I liked Shane and The Pogues.

Shane was obviously an intelligent man and a brilliant lyricist. Just goes to show what too much alcohol does to the brain. In his later years he was almost a partially functional vegetable. RIP Mr. McGowan.

Hepatic encephalopathy is often a consequence of severe cirrhosis due to alcoholism.

The funeral has been pretty epic. Lots of music, including Nick Cave singing "Rainy Night in Soho." It looks like the remaining Pogues will sing "The Parting Glass" at the end.
