Man, this really blows. Just 61. All they said about his death is that it was attributed to a "quick illness."

He's best known for his work in Homicide: Life on the Streets, and Brooklyn 99. His first film role was in Glory.

He was great in everything he was in. He was really interesting as Dr. House's shrink in that one season where he has to do inpatient rehab.

Lin-Manuel Miranda played a fellow asylum dweller. Unbelievable talent in that one season.

I will never not be moved by his delivery of the line "I will" in Glory.

Just a tremendous. nuanced actor who could do it all.

I remember some Hollywood roast just before Brooklyn Nine-Nine went on the air where everyone was needling Andy Samberg about how terrible a police comedy on Fox was going to be. Instead, I think it was one of the better comedies of the 2010s - and Andre Braugher was a big reason why. He will definitely be missed.
