Loved this thread, thanks for posting. This movie is one of my all time favorites. The last tidbit was interesting. They made the film for 25 Million.

One day the There Will Be Blood crew were testing effects for the oil derrick explosion scene, causing a huge smoke cloud for miles around. it meant the Coens had to shut down production for a day on No Country.

Two of the best movies of the 21st Century so far & both filmed in Marfa.

I love this film but my entire family think im crazy. They all fall asleep when I watch it. Having worked oil in California I found it a fascinating watch. It's one of my favorites.
