At the end of Taken, when the daughter was standing at the airport in front of her mom, step dad and their limo, if she had said "Not this time, mom, I'm going home with daddy" I would have absolutely balled my eyes out.

Missed opportunity right there.

Marty bangs his mom, turns magically ruhtarded in front of her, then fades into non existence, scarring her for life.

Leia blowing right past Chewie after Han's death and into the arms of the new Jedi chick instead in whichever of the sucky sequels that was.

This sounds like Crispin glover might have done this treatment to the script

Revenge of the Sith. Everybody had been dreaming about Vader hunting down Jedi since Star Wars. When the time finally comes, anakin storms into the Jedi temple and they decide to not show Vader at full anakn strength. They show a blurry hologram followed by him going against toddlers.

Great Scott!

Never thought of it that way.

Imagine that instead of the dumbass Mary Poppins scene, Leia is just mortally wounded. Instead of pink hair, incredibly unlikeable, Laura Dern character (not even needed), it's just mortally wounded Leia who busts Poe's balls because she knows she is gonna die anyway and doesn't want him to try and white knight her.

Then imagine that when Leia does die, it's felt through the Force to Luke, Rey, Poe, Chewie, and best of all, Kylo. Move through each character. It hits. The blank face recognition that they know she is gone.

Yeah that could have been epic. May have even saved the film too.

Fury. One of my favorite films of all time but the ending is horrible.

Instead of all the BS drama to go down with a disabled tank in the waning days of the European campaign, with Germany essentially conquered, they do something a lot more realistic, cause a bunch of young men aren't going to die for a piece of busted metal and bearings. No way.

Tanks busted. They try to escape. Enemy moving in from multiple sides. One of them is injured too badly to walk. They can't carry him out and either not kill him in the process or outrun the enemy. So they decide all five will stay with the Fury together to fight it out as their best chance all of them make it out.

This was such a wasted opportunity to perfectly finish out what could have been a perfect movie.

Denzel puts one of those suppository bombs up his own pooper, since he knows he's about to die anyway. Bad guys drive him back to compound and boom goes the buttbomb.

Ackbar. And right before he launches into hyperspace, Hux figures it out and yells "It's a Tr..." fade to light speed.

At the end of ROTK when Frodo is lying in bed recovering from his injuries, the door just keeps opening and opening and every single character from the entire trilogy comes in to hug him and jump on the bed - Smeagol, Saruman, Grima Wormtongue, Farmer Maggot, the Sackville-Baggins, Shelob, the Lord of the Nagzul, each gets their own happy moment with Fodo.

the problem with the ending is that the coward is saved by an SS MAN who sees him under the tank and after engaging in a 30 minute battle-

just walks away.

because Nazi Waffen SS troops who were attacking US forces in the final weeks of the war were very compassionate people.

Wasn't there an alternate ending that was similar? I don't know that it was a butt bomb, but I think they had an ending where he blows himself and the Voice up.

Sticking with Star Wars , Anakins turn to the dark side should have been fueled by jealousy thinking Amidila and Obi Won were having an affair behind his back. I know that's not as kid friendly but it woulda been better

A lot of people complain about the ending but I thought it was fine.

And actually what you describe you want to happen is pretty damn close to what happened. The young crew was ready to bolt and GTFO but the Wardaddy insisted he stay with the tank and even told the crew to go. They finally decide they weren't gonna let him do it alone and hopped back on to fight alongside him.

I think the ending was perfect in that portrayed Pitt's character just as he had been portrayed all movie. The grizzly, hardened, commander who had nothing to live for and was completely content to die in his tank.

Harry Potter ending with Snape reveal....

Pretty much as is except it is revealed that Snape was an animagus and was F a w kes the Phoenix all along Dumbledores trusted advisor and Harry realizes he was was always there protecting him too.

I don't believes F a w kes and Snape were ever presented together in the same place until the last part of Deathly Hallows. That could have been removed.

In fact Harry accuses Snape at some point to Dumbledore in Half blood Prince and F a w kes squawks softly. That could have been a retort of sorts.

It fits in with Snape using his tears to show Harry his loyalty to Harry's mother. In fact F a w kes tears are used to cure Harry when he is bit by the baselisk in Chamber of Secrets. that would have been a neat tie in then that it had been Snape who cured him.

Could have tied in to the marauders map showing Snape in Dumbledores office on several occasions and the realization that it did not show F a w kes. Not to mention the characters beak like nose. It was all right there.

Prior to the ending of Deathly Hallows book I was convinced that was going to be the big twist and reveal.

Personally I think it works perfectly.

EDIT had to spell it F a w kes cuz for some stupid filter reason ****es is blocked.

I had a different take.

A very experienced NCO like Pitt's character would have known that by staying behind it would guilt his men in to being swayed to stay behind as well. It goes against what was built up for the character. He specifically told Norman he made a promise to get them home alive. It didn't make sense to do what they did.

Regardless, still one of my favorites of all time.

I think an even bigger problem is that the SS commander keeps ordering his men to die by the dozen to take out a disabled tank that has no strategic value and they could simply bypass and you know, maybe live to be 50 or so. They would have killed their commander. The war was over.

Also, by that point in the war the SS units were having to backfill their depleted ranks with just about anyone they could get their hands on. Doubt the purity test for genocidal maniacs was the same as it was in 1941 so I could see a young guy, completely done with the war, pretending he didn't find Norm under the tank.

So basically the mirror image of Norm on the Nazi side.

The ending had it's holes but I don't think it's as big of a tick mark on the movie as others think.

But yes...Still one of my favorites and a very very underrated WW2 movie.
