And there is reason to believe it could be good beyond a fun trailer: it was originally set for netflix release but Jordan Peele saw a screening and thought it was good enough that he got his production company involved to buy it out for a theatrical release.

Looks a bit formulaic, and overly choreographed fight scenes is getting a bit tired, but still looks interesting enough to give it a chance. The Jaan Wick comment above seems appropriate.

Dev Patel directs Dev Patel, and Sharlito Copley is usually fun in genre fare like this.

Looks like it could be a good time, and certainly insulated against the usual critics.

Is there a big dance number in the middle of the movie like in RRR??

Dunno if anyone here has seen it but it's out for purchase and (very expensive) rent on digital.

I watched Monkey Man last night. I've been looking forward to this one since I saw the trailer. Unfortunately while the fight scenes were entertaining the rest of the film was disappointing, imo.

Caught this on peacock last night and enjoyed it. A little eye rolling at times, but thought it was a fun addition to the one man army genre.

Very fun movie, and it's pretty clear that Dev Patel despises the current Indian Prime Minister (the politician in the movie is a less than subtle allusion to him).

Did not really enjoy this. This will sound like a dumb critique but within the confines of this film it wasn't believable to me that he went from a novice fighter to John Wick, elite level of skill simply after one session with a punching bag. That was quite dumb.

I thought the political undertones were too on the nose and typical boogeyman crap that only ever complains in one direction. But whatevs on that.

Randomly, the bad guy cop looks like an Indian Joe Manganiello. Could be brothers.
