I think a lot of the early 80s movies haven't aged well. I watched Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th his Halloween season for the first time in years and thought both of them were bad. Many old horror movies don't hold up well as far as scares go, though I still think Psycho, The Exorcist and Halloween are still great movies. I don't think many 80s fantasy movies hold up either. Conan, Krull, Beastmaster, etc haven't aged well.

As fun, playful as Mortal Kombat has held up, part two is laughable. Soooo bad.

I'll also add Flash Gordon. Loved it when I was a kid. Still have a soft spot for it. But trying to get my son through it and he fell asleep.

Gotta disagree on Conan the Barbarian. Now if you mean Conan the Destroyer, then yeah, but I thought it was terrible in 1984. Just watched the Barbarian today, and I still really enjoy it.

I think movies that were great to begin with will always be great. Movies that were *popular* but not great, of which there are many, don't hold up well.

Really? That's an interesting choice.

Watched it a few years ago with my oldest daughter (she was a teenager at the time) and she absolutely loved it. I watched her face when the ending began to unfold and she was completely floored by it.
