Horrible player. Over the top. And he may have a great story and been honest, but his million dollars/million hearts line was totally scripted - he repeated it several times over the course of 3 episodes. I'll bet money at the reunion show finale he'll have a tshirt on that says that.
And his story may be tough and he's been through a lot, but also rehearsed. So rehearsed. He was just hoping to make it to the jury so it could use it at the final tribal with a larger audience. Instead he had to use it at a tribal council when he knew he was out. He said several times "I have to tell my story". Ok he did, he's out, the show can move on.

They don't do the live reunion show anymore. Just the jury and the finalists.

is this the most boring cast of Survivor there has ever been?

Jem played too hard and got voted off, good play. The studs forming an alliance will be interesting to see how that works out.

Looks like the Merge is next week.

Q is smart enough to win the whole thing. If the power 6 alliance stays in tact, he just might get there.

The problem now is everyone they pick is a superfan redditor. Production is too concerned picking someone with a "story" rather than just picking good reality TV contestants.

Much improved now that they can move past the Yanu trainwreck.

I'm not a fan of a steamroll but they seem like a pretty solid six.

Maybe I'm just getting old o maybe because it's a 1-1/2 hour watch with my daughter now, but really enjoying the year so far. I like the production is having a little more fun the Top Gun montage last year, the slow-mo reaction last night to Q winning the challenge, etc.

The game is always the best when the merge hits, but the blind side of Jem was pretty solid as well. She overplayed her hand after really getting away with the idol thing, and could have just kept her mouth shut and let either Ben or Tim get voted off, but she had to push the envelope and it cost her. If her "social game" is the equivalent of what they showed with her hounding Ben and Tim last night, she had no chance anyway.

Who's your pick to win it all going to the merge? I like Maria as my top choice, she is a cool customer and really knows how to talk at tribal without tipping her hand.

I like Maria and the Taylor Swift kid. But, now they've tipped their hand and the rest of the tribe knows where they stand by voting of Jem (a girl).

We'll see ...Merge is coming.

I've watched this show since the beginning. I know, I know. But I hardly remember the seasons. If I had to line up the seasons logos in order like on the last show, I'd be skunked.

Also I'm a "Come on in Guys!" Guy.

The only person left not in on the Jem vote was Mariah. For all she knows, the 3 men pressured Maria to vote Gem and she caved.

Mariah waited too long to try to save herself. She should have been scrambling earlier.
Venus just has that uncanny knack of pi**ing everybody off the minute she opens her mouth. However, somebody might want to keep her around as a shield.... she won't win.
Tim is going to outsmart himself. He's going to wind up screwing himself trying to keep too many options open and not committing to anything. He's coming off as un-trustworthy and is going to mess up the Stud Alliance.

Agree 100% on Tim, better to get in an alliance and burn them later than try to be a free agent for too long.

All of them should treat Venus like their ride-or-die until the end, she is incredibly unlikable around the others.

Impressed the women + Charlie team made it close in the big challenge. I thought they'd never get Soda up on those platforms.

Pour one out for Soda. Convinced her parents were Seinfeld fans and bought George's fake argument that Soda was a better name than Seven.

What do they mean by jury management? To me it seemed like Tevin did the work to get people to vote out Soda, but now he won't get the credit for it since he didn't vote for her. He said "No." quietly when Soda was giving Venus credit for voting herself out. I really don't understand his vote for Venus. It wasn't going to make a difference, so I really think he should have owned the blind side of Soda.

Yeah I had that same thought as soon as I hit Post. If you want to look like you didn't betray Soda, that's fine, but anyone else from this vote who ends up on the jury will remember that you did, and will tell her. And she seems like one to respect the move, more than hold onto any bitterness.

Bizarre choice.

I took it as the standard "throw a vote on the 2nd choice just in case the 1st choice plays an idol" strategy. (A strategy that doesn't actually seem to pay off that often.) Loved the look on everyone's faces when Venus was being smug after the vote. She actually thinks she orchestrated the blindside. LOL.

I called it.... Tim is gone due to his wishy-washiness.
Venus is still there... Yes her smugness and she thinks that she orchestrated the Blind Side.... grab your popcorn.
I didn't see Soda going home, but it was a good move. Not sure about the Tevon move???
I think the Thor looking guy had ba**s of steel not to play his idol.
But, we're back to where we started, both green and yellow lost a player.

Really good episode. The excitement of the merge was immediately compromised by the establishment of the 2 'groups' and the affiliated anxiety, awkwardness and unpredictability...

I think Kenzie and Maria are playing good games and Hunter was (until tonight - might have said too much) as well but I think he, Tevin and Q are big targets after tonight. Ben might be a darkhorse to get to final 3. Charlie will evolve to be labeled as a cerebral threat and facilitator of moves and conversations.

Been a fun season, especially since the merge. Maria seems the clear cut choice as long as she keeps the big boys shielding her. Q seems likely to have a physical rage response when he eventually gets snuffed. The Soda vote was definitely a first timer for me with 2 different secret plots to vote the same person. Charlie is getting more and more of a dumb smart guy edit. If he makes it to 5 or so will he have the iq to blindside Maria? Venus needs to be on a 3 person tribe with Coach and Philip Shepherd of masterminds who aren't actually doing anything.

I left this episode with a real bitter taste in my mouth for Q as the whiniest ***** of all time, literally deciding, "If I can't have my way, I quit" but not really. His hide and seek idea for rooting out threats was really cool, but his obsession with being in control is getting progressively less appealing. His stunt didn't change anything about the game except to weaken his own alliance and make everyone hate him.

I was hoping Hunter would play his hidden idol to save Tevin but I don't think he's that quick of a thinker. Really impressed that Hunter won the II on the pole. Usually guys that size don't last long. I had Tevin as my #2 favortie to win behind Maria. Not sure who I put #2 now.

So is Q just a likable version of Coach? I'm not buying that last night was some strategic game move. He completely wrecked Tiffany's game (and possibly Kenzie's by association) and revealed that she had an idol. I just think he didn't want to deal with the repercussions of going back to camp and having to defend his gameplay.

It feels like he has expected that he would control the game more and more as the numbers dwindle but instead it's going the other way. Bossing around the Indian guy and the Asian girl with no pulse maybe set him up for failure now that he's in a group of several strong players who each have their own motivation.

The edits are everything, but getting so many negative physical reactions from one person in a short time span - the post-tribal discussion, people refusing to sit out the challenge, the post-challenge fit, the Tiffany wanting Maria out fit, the Hunter wanting to talk to others fit - I mean that is a lot of uncontrolled anger about some things that are not all that dramatic. Bossing everyone's behavior at the tribe level early on is marginally OK, but telling everyone what they're doing wrong at this stage in the game is pretty off the rails.

I'm pretty sure Q asked the purple tribe to vote him out in Episode 2 or 3 after they lost a challenge that he sucked at. I think he's a hardheaded guy that wants to take responsibility for everything. He was upset that everyone was confused and conflicted about who to vote for, so he was trying to self sacrifice since it was his fault that the vote couldn't go smoothly. If he can keep his head on for another week, I tend to think that the purple 3 (Q, Tiff, Kenzie) can make a run like YamYam, Carolyn, and NASA boy did.

As for Hunter, I think it was smart to hold back his idol. Yes, it would have saved Tevin, his #1, but there is a lot of game left and a lot of other people that he can play with. I honestly think that he's about to go on a Colby type immunity run and reel off 4 or 5 wins.

It's a pretty balanced cast, but I would put Tiff, Kenzie, Maria, and Charlie as most likely to win right now.

I'm not sure what Q's end game was? The result is that he's got everybody mad at him (to include his purple people). Bad move letting people know that Tiff has an Idol. But I guess that he was counting that she'd be gone. He has lost control and I think he just wanted to create some chaos. Is he going to burn everybody's socks next?

Lost in all this is that the mousy glasses girl orchestrated the whole Tevon move and Venus is still there.

Maria is cool customer and Charlie is starting to think too hard. At some point one of them is going to have to get rid of the other; which one will have the guts?

The Hide and Seek game was interesting.

Damn, Hunter should have played that idol. He really played that poorly. First off, he got the right read on needing to play it while still at camp, but then he couldn't shut his mouth. If he had kept quiet and played it at Tribal without warning, he could have picked who he eliminated. Then he was a spaz at tribal and couldn't stop asking for support. He should have played the idol and planned on winning immunity the rest of the way.
G Martin 87

Hunter made two mistakes in strategy.

(1) He started out playing the Ozzie "gonna rely on winning immunity" lone wolf game and neglected the social connection game.

(2) Tiff protected her idol correctly by telling everyone "I'm playing the damn thing no matter what" loudly and often enough to convince everyone they'd be wasting their vote on her. Hunter didn't do that and left the door open that he might not play it.

Regardless, he would have been out the next vote or two anyway. He didn't have a long term strategy.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
I concur w/ G Martin.... Tiff played it perfectly and Hunter wussed out.
As much as he had balls of steel last time, he totally screwed it up this time.
Q and Venus have gotten off the radar. They should keep them around. Nobody in the jury would vote for them. But, damn, it must be annoying to have to be with them everyday.
I think Taylor Swift boy and Maria still have the inside track, but can they turn on each other if they have to?
Tiff has to be the target now. At least flush her idol... and see where the new Idol pops up..... good TV.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
How many times do we see contestants not play their idol and get nuked. If you have any suspicions whatsoever, and Hunter was worried in a bad way, you play it. You will live to fight at least another day and the dynamics can change overnight!

Hunter was not a smart player. He should have played the idol secretly, worked with Q only and put a couple of votes on Ben (or whoever). Yeah, they might have split the votes and nuked Q instead, but that was the correct play.
13 - 0
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Hunter even said "I just need to make it to tomorrow". Play your idol, stay safe. He would have had opportunities to win other challenges, find another idol, get off the radar (see Q and Venus), make alliances.
He may have exposed Tiff's idol in the process. .
Geez.....
Eso si, Que es
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Tiff had the perfect cover of get this idol away from me, it was believable. Hunter told enough people it was obvious he was trying to leverage the idol but retain it. They called a perfect flush play of splitting the vote so either the idol is played or out of the game in his pocket.

Everyone is so hell bent on "getting credit" for an elimination, I think the winning play today is to be the person adjacent to every play and be able to sell at final tribal council that you were always the person who approaches people to help them make "their" play but also be convincing of how that play helped you.

Maria had the perfect opportunity to do that tonight when Kenzie seemingly turned on Tiff. Kenzie wanted that to be her play, but Maria could easily sell at final tribal how she held the vote together because it benefited herself. It is like an advanced Sandra strategy. Never be the one to say the name, but always be able to convince the person who did "claim" the play how pivotal you were to seeing the play through and how it aligned with your long term strategy.

Hunter was a challenge beast, but he was not a good player.

He should've known as soon as didn't have immunity they would vote for him, even with the idol.

The shocking part to me is how everyone was on the same page to pull it off.

They all seem so dumb, that that was a great play. Hunter burns the idol, Q goes how. He doesn't burn it, idol is gone, and Hunter is gone.
