I was watching Seinfeld earlier and The Stand In episode was on. It made me think how much I loved the Mickey character and then was thinking about all the great recurring characters they had over the years. I think Mickey would be my #1 with Tim Whatley at #2. Honorable mention to the guy that played the doctor pretty much every time the script called for one over the entire series.

And Detective Bookman from the library has to be the choice for a one episode character, right?

What do you consider "secondary"? Outside the main 4?

Because it's Frank Costanza.

Otherwise, some rules might be in order.

Good question. Initially I was thinking just the main 4 but I can't really call Frank Costanza a secondary character.

Just looked it up. Hard to believe he was only on 27 episodes. I guess I'll say anyone who appeared on 10 or less episodes.

For sure. Big impact with little screen time.

I think Jackie Chiles and Peterman are up there.

Soup Nazi is an obvious fan favorite for single episode.

Assman for best single moment.

The Soup Nazi was in the finale too, right? So he's not a one episode guy.

10 episodes or less?

Other than the ones mentioned, the following should qualify:

David Puddy
Crazy Joe Davola
Jackie Chiles

Of that list I vote for David Puddy

Not as good as Puddy and only in a couple episodes but Bob and Cedric were funny when they popped up as street toughs.

Years ago I was watching Outlaw Josey Wales for the 1,000th time and it dawned on me that Uncle Leo was the one that caught Josey. Or so he thought.

But then Josey figured that buzzards gotta eat.

Thank you for confirming this!

I was watching an episode the other day and it had Lloyd in it, but it was a different actor playing Lloyd than the episode where Lloyd had the Chinese gum.
