That late '70s/early '80s version of the Kenny Loggins Band was incredible. Strong jazz/rock players and just solid across the board.

Backed by the great Tris Imboden on drums, who went on to be part of Chicago for many years.

Outfit - Drive by Truckers (well, Jason Isbell wrote and sings it, but this is going back to his early days). I have a 14 year old son, and this song hits me in the feels. It's weird how you want your son to do better than you did, but you also want him to follow his own path. Someone else mentioned "Father and Son" by Cat Stevens. That's a classic too. Little known fact on that one, it was written as part of a play about the Russian Revolution. I believe the play was never finished, but Cat Stevens just like the song on its own.

I prefer this Ben Folds track about his son. I used to wake my son up to this song when he was younger. I'd play it on my phone when I went into his room to get him up for school. I'm not sure if that made him like it or hate it, but now, since he is older, he has fond memories of it.




Oh, and Gracie Girl is also a family favorite. I have a daughter as well, and she likes that song.
