Eric Clapton Unplugged was a pretty good live album.

Three Grammy Awards and the best-selling live album of all time.

I'll plug Dylan's bootleg series 2 disc set of Rolling Thunder Revue - this was his best vocal and arrangement period IMO.

This is my favorite.

It's also the greatest live album ever.

Xanadu on side 3 is incredible. There's tons of reaction videos to this version of this song (actually not the album version, but another live video from same tour). It's always fun to see first-time viewers astonished by this performance.

Neil Young - Live Rust

Cheap Trick - Live at Budakon

The Who - Live at Leeds (because of the crunching versions of Young Man Blues and Summertime Blues)

My son and a friend and I all went to see wherever the last Rush thing was at the movie theater. Not R40 but whatever was before that one. Not Beyond The Lighted Stage (I don't think?).

After they did Xanadu, which had great camera angles of all three of them doing their parts, I told my friend and my son "there is a LOT going on there. We always knew it, but seeing it that way is amazing."

I give another vote for Mark, Tom, and Travis shoe. I listened to it recently and it's still ****ing awesome and they're hilarious.

Celebration Day by Zepplin and Nirvana unplugged are classics

And I'll add another that I haven't seen mentioned. Where the Light is - John Mayer

Good call.

I have or had the VHS of that show/tour. I ran lights for the band that two friends were in and they gave it to me for Christmas for putting in so much time with them.

"Frampton Comes Alive" and "Live at Budokan" were both oddities in a way.

Neither Frampton or Cheap Trick had much U.S. commercial success prior to their live albums, so the songs were new to most listeners rather than just a live version of a hit.

Rush - Exit Stage Left
Cheap Trick - at Budokan

I've listened to these more than any other live albums by any band. They're both incredible.

I've been listening to Frampton Comes Alive today because of this thread. I've never heard any songs other than the two big hits from it. I'm amazed by how much I like it. Live and learn.

I was in my 4th year at A&M when a classmate played Journey's Captured back in the early 80's. . Just before Escape. I really had not paid much attention to the band up until then. Then they were all over the place. But there are a couple songs on that album that didn't get much airtime that are really great.

Rattle and Hum is only half Live at best. It's a mismash of live/studio tracks and not even contiguous live tracks. Some great stuff to be sure though. but hardly even considered a live album really.

AC/DC If You Want Blood (You Got It)

In particular, the live version of Whole Lotta Rosie blows the studio version out of the water.

Most of my favorites like Pulse and At Budakan have been mentioned, but no one's said S&M yet so I'll through that in there. S&M 2 was good, but not as good
