My kids are 4 and 6 and really good movie watchers and it was a little out of their age range for keeping them entertained and for plot.

We see basically every kids movie that comes out and that was the most dissapointed I've been in a while.

Thought it was boring and pretty pointless as far as story goes.

Looking forward to Garfield next week

I noticed it was playing at the local theater yesterday and thought "Huh, I haven't heard a peep about that being released. That's probably not a good sign."
Thanks and gig'em

I read 1 review that absolutely skewered it.

My kids were 11 & 12 and they didn't particularly like it.

I definitely thought the flow was kinda weird, but had some audio issues at a drive-in, so maybe that was me. But I actually really enjoyed the end. Not sure why. I never had an imaginary friend or knew anyone that did. But I thought some moments were touching especially at the end.

But not surprised by the reviews either.

Weird. I'm not the demo and have seen a ton of stuff.
I have absolutely no interest in seeing it.

Looks like Krazinski magic has ended.

Spoilers ahead but you probably shouldn't care….

Just got out of it and…yeah…didn't like it and that sucks because this seemed like a film that A LOT of effort went in to but missed the mark on just about everything…

The world they were trying to build around these characters was weird and rules seemed to change….

The characters they focused on had very little payoff….for example there's a young boy in a hospital with broken bones and it seemed they were going to build on something big for him….and then they did their little interview montage and I realized, "nope just a comedy routine that's not funny" and at the end his character arch is given the same amount of time as the secretary we see for all of 15 seconds….wat??????

Also they bring up several times at the beginning about IF's disappearing if they're forgotten (felt similar to Coco) and then…..nothing…..never brought up again no sense of urgency….just IF's going around and trying to get recognized by their former kids…..wat??????

And there's Kranziskis character who's in the hospital for seemingly some sort of serious heart surgery…..they never say but I was assuming it was a heart transplant since he was living in a hospital…..and then what….the next day he's out of the hospital carrying boxes and skipping along while moving out of their apartment in New York…..wat????????

And then there's Ryan Reynolds character….who is in charge of….something….claims to be trying to match kids with other IFs but sucks at it until random main character comes along who basically does nothing other than draw pictures of IFs while interviewing them and all of a sudden he's good at his job……wat????????

Then there's our main character….who can randomly see IFs but it's never explained why….who can recreate IFs entire world but it's never explained why….who can somehow telepathicly know what song was played at grandmas dance recital which somehow helps her remember her IF…..wat??????

And there's the twist ending….that Reynolds was the IF for our main character all along which means…..WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?????????

This movie was more confusing than Boss Baby and that's saying something….

And that sucks cause again they seemed to be REALLY trying to make a heart felt good family friendly movie (and it is family friendly I'll give it that) but I just kept getting more and more confused throughout the entire thing…..

To me it would've been SO much better if they would've focused more on the mothers death and having that be where main character lost her innocence at a young age….dad is still in the picture and perfectly healthy…..and the story revolves around a MUCH bigger world and our main character and her IF trying to reunite to save her IF and in turn finds out now to save others…….

Also it wasn't funny at all….dont think I laughed once during it….so to sum up…..

Well put…agree completely. Who was the secretary tho?

The lack of payoff with the little Asian kid was so bad

Took our 3 year old to a double feature drive in IF then Kung Fu Panda 4

IF - Interesting concept, I think they tried to get to cute with it and ended up blowing ALL the basic setups and payoff for almost everything. No real setup or conclusion to the Ryan Reynolds character, or the dad, for the kid in the hospital etc. etc. etc.

Kung Fu Panda 4 on the other hand started out awesome, we only made it through about the first 45 minutes, but it was highly entertaining.

Near the end of the movie when the big purple guy is meeting the grown up version of his kid, there's a black secretary that has one line asking why the little girl is there and she says she has a delivery…..and that's all we see of the secretary but then at the end we find out she was the kid for the unicorn IF and they act like we're supposed to have a big emotional reaction for a character that's literally had one line….

Which is equal to the amount of screen time and explanation that we got for THE Dad.

It seemed to me they were trying to keep it as kid friendly as possible with the explanations and details of everything.

About halfway through the movie I figured out the ending. And to me they kept it simple/basic/light hearted for kids. The music was very warm and happy. All the tones were bright and fun. Almost had an old school Mary Poppins feel to it.
