Just saw Simu Liu is in it so I took notice since I usually like stuff he is in. That being said, I have no idea if this will be good or will be the usual "looks promising" Netflix movie followed by a "meh" reaction.

Didn't find another thread on it but didn't Google too hard.

While I agree with you and usually use this movie to defend her, that was back when she was jennifer lopez, not jlo. Still, this movie could be fine

Production value was excellent. Multiple lazy plot holes which are easy to ignore. The story was an interesting take on AI wanting to take out humans and rebuild them for their protection but lacked any depth.

The movie would have been fun if it weren't for one thing. J-lo. She's not a bad actress but in this she overdid it. I felt like she was almost a parody of an over emotional hysterical woman screaming the whole time. The screaming was so bad it was distracting from any action scenes (fight scenes were good.)

Had she toned it down and played the level headed logical character she's supposed to be it would have been a decent B movie.

likely a fair assessment, but they have put out Extraction, Grey Man, Adam Project, Glass Onion, Red Notice, and a few other pretty good action movies.

Most do suck though.

It's pretty awful, especially the writing and J-Lo's acting. It's just a generic sci-fi movie. Not much to it.

I watched the trailer bc it autoplayed after I finished Tires, and it was baaaaad. It was jlo getting tossed around in a mech suit, but there were like 3 or 4 instances that felt like unfunny record scratch sitcom bumpers.

It was bad, and I didn't finish it. They basically killed off everyone in the first part of the movie so that there were only four actors for about 75% of the movie. Jennifer Lopez did most of her acting by herself in a small pod conversing with an AI bot.

Yep

I finished it tonight at the gym, got three workouts out of it.

Cool premise. Effects were decent. It was fun but not great.

What I did like about it was what they did the female lead role in the current atmosphere of women are so badass and just kick the sh** out of men. They went the other way. She was out of her league, scared, she cried a lot, and through the help of AI she managed to survive. I thought that was kind of fitting on on point.

I also picked up on the fact that JLo was 11 when the AI went haywire then it was "28 years later" when she went on her mission to kill the AI god. 11 + 28 = 39. Well done Jennifer LOL.

It was just okay.

I'm not a J Lo fan and thought the movie was pretty good. Main part I did not like was the intelligent mom not having safeguards to keep from happening with her daughter and the AI. A little too easy/convenient.

If we are discussing plotholes, the part that bugged me the most was her battery leaking the entire time to create the time constraint issues, but never thought to check the other mech suits for one to swap out. This being the grandmaster chess player that can beat AI.
