I voted for him.

I heard a great story from a friend who was at a convention here in Texas where Kinky was the "keynote" speaker. He told a wildly inappropriate joke that left some people laughing but most looking at each other going "did he really say that". Joke too long to relate here.

In light of losing our baseball coach to tu, it's only appropriate that we think about one of Kinky's greatest tunes, "The Ballad of Charles Joseph Whitman":

This makes me incredibly sad.

The man was a friend to dogs. I proudly wore his campaign shirt years ago back when the world was a little different. He was absolutely one of a kind.

friend of mine was one of his back-up singers. She mentioned what a great time she had touring Texas and being on stage with him. Larger than life he was.
