A more recent survey came back as like 60%. Commentator went on to say, that is what is wrong with the country.
There is too much literal hate against the other party. No more civil discussions or simple arguing then shake hands and have a beer. It's like crazy ex-spouse hate level, can't be in the same room type of stuff.

I do not want to start a political fight, but it is impossble to find the equivalent from leaders or influencers on the right. You just can't. It's lopsided. Trump is "Hitler" and "the greatest threat democracy and this country could ever face". They are still saying it, after his head almost exploded on live TV. Very dangerous rhetoric that you very rarely, if ever, see from leaders and influencers on the right.
Hateful, violent rhetoric spewing media, politians, and celebs toning things down and not demonizing and green lighting their opponent would go a long way to ratchet things back down imo. My honest take.
I get it, but many people hate him based on outright lies and exaggerations they have been fed. He is who he has always been...brash NYC businessman. But dem politicians, media, celebs etc will have you believe he is the biggest threat to the existence of this nation and many have compared him to HITLER LOLOLOL.AggieOO said:

90% of the population just wants to live their lives, earn a paycheck and take care of their family and friends. I have tons of friends with differing political views and we all get along just fine. Prove it. Find the GOP/conservative equivalent to these compilations. I can almost guarantee you won't even watch them. But let me help you. You can't find this from mainstream leaders or figures on the right. This is one of those cases where saying "come on, both side do it" makes one look like a complete fool.

Gilbert Gottfried joked about 9/11 at a roast just weeks after it happened. It didn't air on TV so I guess that's why it wasn't more widely talked about, but interesting how his career was mostly unchanged after that.
I do wonder if Gass had made the joke two weeks later, it would've caused the same uproar.
I agree with double aught, the survey I saw proves to me it's not coincidence that 20 years ago is when social media was in infancy, and soon became part of everyone's lives.wangus12 said:90% of the population just wants to live their lives, earn a paycheck and take care of their family and friends. Also has to be funny to a fairly wide audience...no amount of passage of time would have made a birthday wish of "that xxx president had died" funny imho.Diggity said:

Please be honest (these are short clips and worth a watch).....is there even close to enough similar material coming from mainstream conservatives to make such compilations?Bruce Almighty said:
The internet has created safe spaces for hive mind mentality, and both sides are guilty of this, whether f16 wants to admit to it or not. Very little discussion of politics actually takes place. Instead, it's just giving each other internet high fives while coming up with the most clever ways to trash the other side. The left is probably more vocal, but if Biden had been shot at, you'll get a bunch of faux thoughts and prayers, while the first person that makes an anonymous joke gets 200 blue stars. Also, you'll get a bunch of people from the left screaming about right wing rage while the right says no, he's was just crazy. It's probably not really as bad as social media makes it out to be, but it's definitely the most toxic it's been in my lifetime.

Stand by my statements. Watch those two short and entertaining videos. Republican politicians and media have never engaged in that type of rhetoric towards Obama, or any other dem president. You'd see highlight reals if that were not the case.ElephantRider said:William Foster said:Doesn't help that I could show you 3 minute long compilations of democrat politicians (along with media and celebs) literally calling for violence and saying very extreme things about their opposing candidate.62strat said:I saw some stat that said 20 years ago only like 15-20% of those polled admitted to 'hating' the other party.William Foster said:Both of these guys HHHHATE Trump. This. Should be easy to find high profile republicans telling their followers to get in the face and confront any Obama cabinet member they see in public. To start uprisings all over the country. That Obama was tearing apart families at the border and putting little kids in cages (the exact same border detention protocols went on undeer Obama) etc etcSome Junkie Cosmonaut said:ElephantRider said:William Foster said:Doesn't help that I could show you 3 minute long compilations of democrat politicians (along with media and celebs) literally calling for violence and saying very extreme things about their opposing candidate.62strat said:I saw some stat that said 20 years ago only like 15-20% of those polled admitted to 'hating' the other party.William Foster said:Both of these guys HHHHATE Trump.
