Is Moviepass legit now? I keep getting these emails with a $1 for the first month offer but they all have misspellings and look kind of like an old Geocities website. Then if you click on the link, it takes you to a site with a countdown clock at the top that always resets if you load the site again. The url is definitely moviepass.com though, so I don't know.

Original founders were pushed out of the company. New CEO drove it into the ground due to spending and making it such a sweetheart deal. Went bankrupt. One of the original founders bought it back and was trying to do something with it.

There is a MAX documentary about it. Pretty interesting.

I remember the summer Movie Pass became a big deal. Everyone knew it was going to come crashing down, but we were all good with seeing as many movies as possible before it did. I don't think there was a single person in America who thought it was a decent business plan. I don't think the CEO even thought that. I think he just wanted to see how far he could go before it blew up.
