Disney version one of my favorite movies and a fantastic score as well.
I started crying in front of my kids when we watched the Disney version and they nailed the Father Christmas scene so well with Lord Commander Mormont from GoT.

Wow...

Yep, I knew they were going to **** this up. This series is my childhood and I can't believe how disrespectful they look to be with it. I just don't understand the mind virus enough to understand why they can't just leave classics alone.

These theater nerds all need a good punch in the face. I blame all of this on less bullying in the late 90's and early 00's.

Make a new series and literally no one would care. I really hope the estate speaks up.

How has this thread gotten to a second page without the "Chronic What Cles of Narnia"?

Watched that while visiting a friend in Dallas the night it came out. Was like the whole world changed.

We're about to be transported to a dream world of magic!

When I was scrolling down and saw Meryl Streep I thought, "Holy cow! Meryl Streep as the witch?! That's swinging for the fences."

But Aslan? Come on!

It's ok to have a Jesus allegory embodied as an animal, but that animal had better be male?

This was probably the most obvious tweak Greta was going to make to the dogma.

It's Netflix. It's 2024. Of course they will make changes because reasons.

Lucy will be black and gay, Edmund will be trans, Susan will be an activist, and Peter will be a beta soy spouting about enviromentalism.

Mr. Tumnus will be called a "pan-sexual ally" (see what I did there?) and the villainous White Witch will be . . . well, it's right there in the name, isn't it?

That's pretty funny.

Going to be a bit tough to shave off the mane if he isn't.

l

You can absolutely have Jesus allegory with a female. If that's what she wants to do, come up with a story and sell it. But the last time I checked female lions don't have manes.

You can make the allegory whatever you want if you write it, but the last time I checked C.S. Lewis wrote The Chronicles of Narnia, not Greta Gerwig.

Wasn't exactly a huge leap by Lewis...

The Pan double entendre was a fun twist as a way of expressing his disdain. Just tipping my hat to the clever play on words.

Yeah that poses a problem, but I imagine they'll work around it. The important part is the sacrifice, death, and resurrection.

Maybe they declaw the lion or stake it by its paws to the table. That would be pretty on the nose.

I was going for a satire/satyr joke that would work better spoken not written.
