Um, because it's in the Entertainment section. And he's in one of the biggest bands out there and its front page news in all of the Entertainment pubs. Seems like something that would be worthy of discussing. I don't even like them but interested in the rhetoric it is sure to spawn.

I agree with you, but the op asking how an extra marital affair will effect the legacy of a musician is kinda silly

Again, while I agree and don't personally hold any judgement, there is a sht ton of people out there that disagree and all over themselves crapping on him. Makes for good entertainment.

He's a celebrity rock star, it would be shocking if he didn't have affairs. It's part of the reason he got into rock in the first place, he is not a role model. (W apologies to Charles Barkley)

My Uncle Wayne was fathered outside of marriage.

If anything, we might be getting more tours out of Foo Fighters now since Dave is financially on the hook for at least 18 more years and if his marriage doesn't survive I'm sure his wife will get a good chunk of the family wealth even with a prenup.

I'm not hating on the thread or saying it shouldn't exist; apologies if my post came off that way. I simply don't recall other threads about extramarital affairs/children of musicians and found it interesting that someone posted this, especially with the particular question the OP posed. Regardless, the content of this thread is highly comedic and I'm glad I saw it.

That's a fair take but I can't imagine being gone from home for months on end is good either and that seems to pass scrutiny.

He made a mistake and got caught. He can still be a good person and a good dad in spite of that.
just with his half his sh** that ex wife and new boyfriend will enjoy spending

No one truly cares. Multiple presidents of our nation have cheated on their wives, including the much-worshipped trump. Rockstars are almost required to.

I think it has everything to do with Grohl being one of the "good ones". Kind of like Keanu, He seemingly can't do wrong and this is a bit out of character with the perception of him as a human.

Like someone said, celebrity worship culture loves to build people up and watch them fall.

Otherwise, this isn't a big deal

you think something like happening in his life is going to have zero impact on his writing?

That's an interesting take. That would mean you believe his writing is superficial and not genuine; as if he writes about nothing that happens in his life.

I was thinking more along the lines of him taking an extended hiatus, etc. Feel free to keep projecting, though.

Yeah, artists with personal problems never put out good music.
