I don't know why I didn't notice it when I watched it the first several times, but Walt literally almost kills himself in the pilot episode. When he's outside the RV waiting for the cops (turns out to be the fire department) to show up. He puts the pistol under his chin and squeezes the trigger, but the gun only clicks as the safety is on.

Really crazy stuff

You've watched not just once but SEVERAL times and you're just now noticing this?

Posts like these astound me. It wasn't some hidden, artsy fartsy subtle allusion, it was literally shown on screen up close.

So I guess my question is have you ever really watched Breaking Bad? Follow up question So what did you think was happening in that scene if it wasn't a failed suicide attempt?

It happened really fast and I never noticed the first time.

Loved this post. You keep noticing things, even on your tenth watch-through.

I'm experiencing this myself. Did you know Walter White was written to be a bad guy?

As many times as I watch this, Skyler is always the villain. ALWAYS.

In hindsight, all of those great anti-hero series relied on that "uggh, women? so annoying. am I right?" trope

Yeah, that is not really a revelation. That was the show.

I don't want to ruin it for folks who've only watched them 3 times but I just watched the Sixth Sense and the Usual Suspects for the 4th time and caught some crazy surprises at the end of both that I didn't catch the first 3 times. Worth watching again for those that might have missed it.

Rewatching an old episode of Dexter, I just noticed something. I think he was a serial killer!

CRAZY.

I've never seen a character in TV or movies have a failed suicide attempt before.

Now, just imagine how crazy it would have been if the safety wasn't on. And he just died in the first episode of the show. And no one broke bad.

For some reason I seem to notice a new joke almost every time I watch Airplane! I don't know what's wrong with me.

This makes sense. When I watched the show live, I was rooting for Walt the entire time. On re-watches, I found myself actively rooting against him knowing how bad he became and saw him more as the villain of the story. Great writing.

I had a revelation the other day, I realized Clarence was an Angel. Weird stuff.

I always root for Walt, hate Jesse more and more since he held Walt back, plus getting Hank and Gomez killed by turning himself in.

I also got ambushed by boobs in the pilot. I had never noticed it before but apparently they shot one scene with her wearing a bra, and one scene with her topless because they were shopping the pilot to HBO, and Showtime in addition to AMC

If you watch the series very carefully, you'll notice that Walter is actually the one who "Breaks Bad"

But for real. My favorite "reveal" or "easter egg" BB did was in S2, each episode started with the black and white flash forward. The title of those episodes revealed the ending with the plane crash.
I'm sure that is common knowledge now, but at the time that was kick ass.

Something like "747, down, over, ABQ, toward, Phx."

trying to solve that puzzle when it was airing at the time was fun. everyone who thinks this show is overrated missed out on things like that cause they hopped on after the hype train and binged it too fast.
