What is the cutoff for the Emmy awards? I'm not understanding how The Bear is receiving awards for its second season last year, competing against Shogun from this year.

Btw, the Levy's are pretty funny hosts.

I had to Google it. They said it was delayed 4 or 5 months because of the strike. I am going to assume that is the reason its so late.

June 1- May 31.

Always been this way.

So it's not been uncommon for shows from last summer, which feels years ago (and ran another season this summer) up against stuff that finished in May.

To make it make sense, the calendar was designed in the broadcast era, when shows ran Sept- May, and the Emmys were right in front of premiere week in Sept.
