"Speak no evil" with James McAvoy was great

I haven't seen a thread on this one yet but I saw it over the weekend and it was fantastic. Great acting range by McAvoy and a great non contrived thriller that managed to be scary without anything supernatural or needing jump scares.

I really don't think it deserved the R rating. Some language, some violence, no nudity, seemed more appropriate for a PG-13 rating to be honest. Here in Abu Dhabi it was rated PG-15 which feels about right.

4/5 stars, go see it

PG-15 is crazy.

they should go back to 1980's PG that had cussing, gore and nudity.

It's crazy that Beetlejuice was PG and had way more risque jokes than Beetlejuice Beetlejuice does at PG-13.

James McAvoy really impressed me in Split/Glass. This dude has some acting chops for sure!

I want to see it mostly for the Halt and Catch Fire reunion.

He seems oddly underrated, for some reason.

My favorite was Atomic Blonde. He killed it.

Here is the bottom line.

The English. Aussies, Irish, Scots, Canadians, are just better than the rest of the world at the theatrical and musical arts. Compare their populations to the success of their celebrities and they literally kill it and yes that includes being compared to Americans.

It's almost like there isn't room sometimes for like McAvoy. He is an amazing talent.

We had a (short) thread on the Danish original this is based on a few months back.

Based on the reviews this has a Let The Right One In feel to it where the English remake is about as highly regarded as the original. So many aren't.
