S2 was kinda forgettable but has some fun moments, I still enjoyed it. There was a lot more of "we're just gonna murder these guys" though.

Why do we get a 3rd reacher but just 1 terminal list. At least an update says terminal list 2 is set for summer 2026 possibly.

Can't blame the show for that, that's taken from his character in the books. He will straight up murder anyone who is at fault for killing his brother or his friends. He believes "the bad gets what they have coming to them". Cheesy and unrealistic, sure. But my point is I'd rather it stay close to the canon of the source material. And Season 2 was over the top cheeseball, and while that is what made it somewhat endearing, I'm glad to see it migrate more to Season 1 which was much better and more sustainable.fig96 said:

While season two was extremely cheesy, my problem was that I couldn't care less about the rest of the team members. I watch this show to see giant Reacher kick ass on his own. Not a group of obvious pansies being portrayed like they're just as badass as Reacher.
The Susan Duffy actress has an awful accent. You can tell it's fake and so over the top.
Marked improvement on season 2 a couple of episodes in.
I just can't believe that grey haired dad is Anthony Michael Hall. Talk about making you feel old.

Oof, I know I commented on how the cheese factors is what makes the show somewhat endearing, I guess I had too long of a break since Season 2. Finally watched episode 1 of S 3 last night and it was all I could take. Lol. That was a struggle to get back into 'Reacher Schtick' mode. And that accent. Yes, almost had to look away it was so bad (not even sure what that means).

I appreciate from the other post that she's British. I saw that on IMDB...but did nobody bother to check whether she could pull the accent off prior to casting her?
I started watching this last night. But 20 minutes into episode 1 I was pretty tired and also just shaking my head. This morning I got on here to see what people were saying only to see people liking it....I was like wth????

What the hell? Reacher the drifter who travels by bus or foot suddenly has a van???? And is selling vinyl records??? Where would he keep such records and what would he play it on he is a drifter???? And it just so happens the small college town where he sells these records in Maine has an attempted kidnapping in broad daylight right in front of him? Lucky coincidence. Terrible setup to intro this story. And then the kidnappee happens to have a bigwig (apparently criminal) father who is going to reward Reacher and hell give him a job too. First Reacher wipes down the van - good thinking - but has he only ever touched like 3 places on this van? Weird. And then Reacher is taking the bullets out of his own gun. He ditches the van but keeps the gun??!?!?!!? Makes no sense.
I don't know what's going on here except Brian from The Breakfast Club has changed a lot and turned dark.

So based on reviews I decided to keep watching and also suspected that something wasn't as it seemed. I had noticed the kidnapper tipping his cap but thought maybe it was to the driver and it was some inside job.
Ha!!!! I stopped right before the "I'm in" call. Ok well as some setup to get Reacher in this org I guess it works ok and answers all of that. I was really worried for a bit.
This federal agents accent....hmmm. I'm torn. In a way I kinda like how over the top it is. Could it be fake (meaning fake for Reachers benefit)? Sure. If not and it's just the actress.... I really don't mind it. It sells her gruffness imho. I like someone nearly as blatant and gruff as Reacher.
Ok so on to episode 2.....
That federal agent almost makes the show unwatchable. I hope to see less of her throughout the rest of the season. However, they've already made some comments to each other that seem like foreshadowing for some romance.

This story line is following the book quite well. I'm glad that the whole crew is not involved in this story line. I also saw earlier today where Neagley has her own series on Netflix separate from Reacher.
I'm looking forward to seeing how Paulie and Reacher resolve their issues in the next five episodes.
Enjoyed the first three episodes. I feel like this book will lend itself to TV a bit better than season 2.
EDIT: adding that I live in Australia so pretty much every accent I encounter now sounds ridiculous, Duffy's no more than some bogan here

I give the first 3 episodes a solid 7.5 out of 10...if that chick wasn't doing the worst Boston accent I've ever heard I'd give it 8.5 out of 10.
Much better than S2 already despite the awful accent, plus she needs to be hotter if she's British and can't do a decent accent. She must have some sway with one of the producers.

I don't think that's supposed to be a Boston accent. More New England/Connecticut.
Yeah they're in Maine so likely supposed to be a Maine accent. Though 99% of people could never tell the difference between that and a Boston accent... and certainly doubt a small time British actress has those separated
I wouldn't mind some more scenes with Serinda Swan though

The plot is bad. The script is awful and the acting is worse than either.

For a criminal organization there is a serious lack of security. No cameras around the house he sneaks in and out of? No cameras at any of the warehouses?
Yeah I just chalked that up to Reacher cheese. I can handle a certain level of it, last year just turned into a cheese tsunami.
I also love the bully dudes who see a roided out gorilla and are like, we can take his ass!!! Even after he breaks the arms and legs of two dudes the lead bully is like, I found this convenient bat in the trash and now I'm going to take you down!!!
