Just personal preference. I think they look the best.

Interesting chart, I remember how big dark green was in the 90's - I wanted it myself! The explosion of white cars since 2009 baffles me, generally my least favorite choice (its subjective, just personal feeling) but I have seen some good whites and often the best color for a car depends on the vehicle lines and other accent choices.

At least in recent years the trend has been slightly more colorful.

Its really very easy to see all you need to see about car colors. If you actually observe large parking lots, they're all the same, and in fact you would be thrown off if you passed one and it looked bright and colorful. Here's an image from a game, and right away it just looks like a cartoon.



In pretty much any parking lot something like 40% of the cars will be white or very light colors like light grey or champagne. 30% will be black or dark colors like charcoal or dark navy blue. 20% will be grays or tan neutral colors. Thats 90% of the cars The remaining 10% will have the pops of color. Almost all of those will be red and some will be dark like maroon. The final 1% or 1 out of a hundred will be colorful in another color besides red. It will be usually yellow but maybe bright blue, or green. Basically, all parking lots are greyscale with pops of red. You have to search to find the one car thats different generally. Even that graph that was shown earlier is misleading in the blue part, because most blue cars are not the bright blue that is represented in that graph.

To be fair, having a colorful car makes you stand out to cops and burglars nowadays.
