Anyone watch this yet? I watched it last night, it was fine. One of those nothing better to do for 2 hours before bed kinda movies. Pratt and Brown had zero chemistry (not in a romantic way) Ke Huy Quan seemed like the only actor giving a crap. Voice acting was good and the special effects were really impressive for a netflix movie. No surprises or twists really.

Started it last night but haven't finish it yet. Seems super predictable.

Oh for sure. As soon as stanley tucci was introduced in knew he was the bad guy. I did think there was going to be a more sinister plot line about how his product was doing a lot of harm to people.

Honestly, the more I wrote my review the more I realized it wasn't a good movie at all. Still, I don't feel like I wasted my time

Everything about it was decent. But it just doesn't scream ground breaking or anything special. Worth the watch though for sure.

I actually enjoyed watching Kraven more last night.

I went down the rabbit hole on the source material the other night and the story it's based on looks really interesting

The movie they created looks really basic

Strikes me as a wasted opportunity for original storytelling
Thanks and gig'em

I don't get the bad reviews. It was very entertaining. Great special effects, fun action, awesome sound track.... maybe it wasn't an A+ , but a solid b for sure.

EXCEPT the strange "more than a friend" comment at the end??? What was that??

Watched it last night, it felt like a bunch of scenes had things just happen incoherently, the flashbacks certainly didn't help, and while there was a plot everything just felt disjointed.

Also, I read online that the budget was $320M and I still can't figure out why Netflix keeps green lighting these high budget schlocky movies but won't give us a Season 3 of Mindhunter.

i'm in this camp except for the soundtrack. they had a great chance to rock with some 90s and really screwed the pooch.

i'm probably spoiled from associating Chris Pratt to Star-Lord and thus GotG with great soundtracks, but the Champagne Supernova just really set the mood for a soundtrack that didn't exist. there was a slight orchestra nod to Wonderwall, but that was it.

that complaint being said, we enjoyed it a good bit. if you were ok with Gray Man, Adam Project, Tomorrow War, Extraction, then this should be up your alley. I'd rather Netflix release more of this and less FBoy Island, second rate murder documentaries, or John Mulaney shows.

B+

Funnily enough, I found the soundtrack to be one of the stronger aspects of the movie with songs from Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Danzig, The Clash, Journey (w/Taco Bot's rendition of Don't Stop Believin), Judas Priest, and The Flaiming Lips.

After finishing it, we enjoyed it for what it was.

2 things that might have improved it, is 1) the whole robots and humans fight together piece was just 1 human. Diving deeper into the addiction side could have easily gathered more human allies. 2) didn't really understand how the robots broke the accords with the humans. Was there supposed to be no interaction or no helping?

Shaggy haired Pratt getting out of the semi with "Mother" playing was pretty sweet

Just watched it with the kids. It was better than i expected based on the critics rating on rotten tomatoes. Quite predictable but entertaining enough. I think my kids liked it, so it served its purpose.

My oldest son and I watched it one afternoon of SB when we were being lazy. It was a decent easy watch.

I'm with you. Finished it tonight with the fam. Thought it was a fantastic family movie, great soundtrack, and amazing cast. CGI/effects were outstanding. Happy to keep paying Netflix $25/month, or more, for something this fun per month.

Chris Pratt
Millie Bobby Brown (her star has even come close to rising yet)
Stanley Tucci
Alan Tudyk
Holli Hunter
Woody
Giancarlo Esposito - hell yeah
Seinfeld guy
Short Round
Hank Azaria
Gronk!

Super fun movie.

How would this movie be for a 7 and 8 year old? Saw it had pg13 rating but looked like my kids would enjoy it from seeing the trailer tonight.

My impression is that language is the main reason for the rating. Violence was less than the average marvel movie imo.

Great looking movie was with some great actors.

Story/Plot very meh.

Really could have been great with a better script. Everything else was nails - special effects, cast, premise, world building, etc.

We enjoyed it just fine, though. I'd give it a B. Probably should watch it with the 10 year old. I think he'd love it.
