Ok….i gotta real soft spot for this one.

Stitch is hands down….my favorite Disney character from any movie they've made since the year 2000. I remember seeing this one in theaters when I was a teen with my dad and completely loving it….

Loving it so much that I do Stitch's voice whenever I'm around kids….and my kids were begging me to go to these movie's characters and talk to them in stitch voice when we were in Disney World (which of course I did)

Trailer looks really good. Looks like they're trying real hard (or at least showing it) to stay faithful to the original while expanding on the hijinks with Lilo and Stitch….

Yes I'm exhausted on the Disney remakes but darnit this is going to be one me and the family go see opening weekend!

We got our second son a Pug for his birthday in 2018. He was nine and wanted to name her Twinkie. So we did. Great little dog. My wife and I have referred to her as "Stitch" since we got her because she literally is "Stitch", Funny, rude, gross, loveable. Great character.

Gotta admit, I laughed at a good bit of that, in a good way. Particularly using the CD as a discus against that trailing car.

We have a Schipperke. He gets compared to Stitch often since he is usually up to some mischief.

I'm pretty excited for this one as well. Just a really fun character. Only thing I wish could happen was to have Michael Clarke Duncan as Agent Bubbles

Gotta tell ya, I love the song "Hawaiian Rollercoaster Ride". I've looked for a nice version of the sheet music on UltimateGuitar.com but I mostly find ukelele.

Michael Clark Duncan is to Ving Rhames as Laurence Fishburn is to Samuel L. Jackson.

Love the original - probably in my top 3 Disney movies. Even named my dad's dog "Ohana".

Zero desire to see this. I don't see the appeal of watching a worse version of a story I already love. Isn't that what modern musical theater is for?

Very interested to see how true this is since apparently they completely left out some of the original. I'll probably go see it by myself because my wife doesn't want to go.

Just left the theater with the kids. Really enjoyable film. Thought the little girl did a good job as Lilo. Wasn't the exact same as the original but still a fun movie.

if they were to remove a character this one makes the most sense….

You already have two aliens (mad Russian and mosquito enthusiast) trying to catch stitch along with the female alien leader barking orders and cobra bubbles….thats enough "sorta antagonists" without adding one more…

Maybe a fun story from the production of this movie.

I got cast as a background cop for the scene after the luau burned down and the two aliens are being ticketed by the police for causing a disturbance.

Sorry, I don't know all the technical terms so bear with me.

They were setting the shot and we had been practicing with the stand ins for Billy Magnusen and Zack Galifinakis. We did a few different takes and after one, the director turned to me and told me I needed to look angry and make the characters feel uncomfortable.

First, I was shocked a director was giving a BG direction, but I ran with it. I glared my ass off at the stand in to the point that he visibly looked uncomfortable. The director called to reset the scene then turned to the guy I was glaring at and said, "Thanks, Zach. We're going to bring in the 3D ball now to check the lighting."

I almost peed my pants. I had been mean mugging Zach G the entire time.

He was really cool about it and after we wrapped the scene he and Billy M both shook my hand (and the other cops hands) and told us we did great.

Anyways, Movies, am I right?

My 5 year old L&S fan gave it two thumbs up. Mom wondered why she was getting teary eyed in a kids movie over a CGI alien. Likely the best Disney live action "remake."

The actresses that play Lilo and Nani did a great job. Disney should take notes from this creative team on how to not screw up an adaptation with a built in fan base. A lot of fun at the movies for a family outing.

We loved it this afternoon. Even kept my 2 year olds attention for over an hour, which literally no other movie has ever done at the theater. My 11 Ns 7 year olds both love stitch and really enjoyed the movie. We even brought both sets of grandparents and all of them liked it.

They really should use this as a blueprint if they are going to remake things. Changed a few things but kept the heart. Kept it light hearted and didn't discuss anything that would make parents uncomfortable.

Overall a great movie.

Whelp….Im gonna piss in the cereal of a few posters here….

I didn't like it. In fact consider me done with all these Disney remakes…I hadn't seen too many of these remakes up to this point, heck I think the only ones I've seen were Beauty and the Beast and Alladin…

I really wanted to like this. I really, really did. But jeez it just turns in to waiting for people to say the lines you already know are coming and just doesn't capture the heart of the original when you already know what they're going to say.

That being said there were some things I liked. Mainly the changes.

I liked that they removed Gantu and made the evil scientist the main bad guy.

I liked how they changed the social services issue and actually had a conclusion that felt logical and worked with the story. On top of that I liked that they had it where Nani had to give up part of herself to be a parental figure.

I also liked Stitch. He was still fun to watch and listen to and from a special effects stand point he looked really good.

But the whole heart of the story just felt flat to me and I could not get in to it. The only time they captured it and got it right was at the very end when you see Stitch in bed snuggling with Lilo and Nani and he says, "Goodnight sisters." That sweet and adorable.

Ugh…….like I said I really wanted to like this…but I'm sticking with the original and probably will never watch this version again…

Just got out of it with my 4 year old. Thought it was really well done and both of us really enjoyed it. And I thought the girl who played Lilo was exceptional in the role

Saw the animated version for the first time yesterday, so this is fresh. Curious why you pictured Duncan when the animated character was voiced by and looked just like Vhing Rames.

Great take. I felt the same way. I really wanted to like it, just didn't feel right. I agree with the changes on Nani. Loved her little back story missing from the original.

Saw it last night. I appreciated the changes to Nani's storyline and how social services was approached in a much better way, but I do think a lot of that worked here because the fans who saw the original when it came out have a better appreciation for what is a nuanced and truly adult issue. I don't think kids will get it the way we do.

That being said, they left out or intentionally removed a lot of stuff I think made the original a lot of fun. Where the original seemed very much a film for all audiences, I think the remake was ultimately a kid-friendly film for adults.

Man I hate to hear that. Get it.

Fortunately, my family never saw the original. Maybe my wife, but it's been a long time for her. Anyway were in Maui and wanted to cool off yesterday afternoon. Thought it was a great flick. Which is interesting because I always avoided the original for some reason. But thought it was a sweet family movie. For once, I'm glad they didn't update it and mess it up.

But I get how that is repetitive for the OG fans.

It's on Disney+ starting today. The wife and I watched it during and after we ate dinner.

The original was played in our house a ton on dvd because our son was the target audience back then. We watched the series on Disney Channel as well back in the day.

I liked most of the changes. They didn't let Stitch point blasters at the toad, and they didn't do too much to show how freakishly strong he was, and they took away Jumba's Russian scientist voice. And I would have liked to see a CGI Gantu but I don't know that it would have added anything.

I was glad they kept Hawaiian Rollercoaster Ride in the movie. That song is great.

It was fun.

Watched the first 15 minutes with my 3 year old (who loves the cartoon). I noticed when Stitch escaped to Earth they didn't bother shooting at him/hurt the ship. They did keep a majority of the story intact from what we saw and will continue watching in bits until it's done.

Was really bummed they didn't do a tango scene with Tia Carrerrerrerrerrerre.
