Chris Cornell has the best vocals. If I could sing, I'd want to be able to sing like him.

Top Tier Rock Vocalist, zero doubt about that

Great post! Really that whole album is spectacular. Couple of deeper cuts that are just as good if not better than the more popular tracks on it. What You Are is such an unknown gem I feel like.

The stripped down acoustic version they would do for this song during some concerts was outstanding. Definitely hits you in the feels.

The universe has a history of poor decisions. Taking Chris Cornell away while leaving us stuck with the mound of dog crap out there that will churn through horrible "music" for decades is a crime

Audioslave never really did it for me but this song was always a standout. Cornell has some great solo stuff too.

One of the blessings in life is that dude was always working. Lots of music recorded touching different styles, all with his own fingerprint.

Was lucky enough to see them live. Chris Cornell was a HUGE loss to music.

Not a bad version.. just 2 weeks after he died, so gotta be hard to get through it.. SOAD is pretty polarizing and not for everyone, but Serj has some emotion in his singing that's for sure.

Saw soundgarden with NIN at red rocks.. saw CC several times solo, including front row at house of blues for acoustic show, met him at a buzzfest briefly (enough to get autograph).

One of the greats of all time.

Had tickets to see Soundgarden memorial day weekend right before he took his life in Detroit. Incredibly sad.

I generally like Audioslave but really do hate some of the sound effect solos Tom Morello laid down.

Rock Purists sometimes have a field day critiquing Morello.

My opinion: He does his effects with great style that's cohesive to the overall feel of the song. It works

Probably the thing i like most about Morello is his willingness to just....do whatever he feels like. Bending instruments around his ear and what he wants a sound to be is fun.

Zach del a Rocha to Cornell might have been the greatest upgrade in music history.

Amen, great song. I always liked that song, but some of the other songs I used to skip over have really grown on me. Songs like "Show me How To Live" and "I am the Highway". For whatever reason, I wasn't too into those songs back when this came out. I love the whole album now.

I feel like they lost a lot of their oomph though. The pieces were there but the whole was less than the sum of its parts, IMO.

We were so hyped about Audioslave when it was rumored/announced but when the album leaked we were so underwhelmed.

I was lucky enough to see Chris Cornell 4 times, once with Soundgarden, once solo, once with Audioslave, and once with Temple of The Dog. He's, imo, the greatest rock vocalist of our generation.

When Cochise came out, that was exactly what I was hoping for from a RATM and Cornell collaboration. I was honestly surprised at how well the rest of the band showed their range on the album.

It was definitely a marriage that wasn't meant to last (CC and the rest of the band had separate management, I believe from day 1), but damn we got some good music out of it.

Rage For The Machine. Dumb joke. ZDLR has been a big supporter of "I support the current thing" of whatever the MSM has been pushing during the past 10 years or so.

No doubt. Can you imagine a member of RATM in the 90s supporting a government mandated shutdown of the entire economy like in 2020, and ruining countless people's lives for not taking a vaccine? ZDLR truly has become what he used to rage against, as have most "artists" who always claimed to be anti-establishment but were in truth just anti-Republican and anti-Christian.
