Outside of a few outliers their songs aren't holding up that well IMO
Death Magnetic never got the respect it deserved. Every song is a banger and was overshadowed by being the next album released after St. Anger.rhutton125 said:
I went through the discography a couple years back before seeing them in concert. The bad albums are as bad as I feared, but honestly, Death Magnetic is my favorite album. It's strong.
Going to have to steal this. Perfectly saidUrban Ag said:
For Gen X, Metallica is Kill Em All thru the Black Album, then we all went to college, had careers, got married, had kids, etc. Everything that happened after that is mostly sh** we didn't follow.
That roughly ten year span was and remains epic and is "Metallica" to us.

Technical Skill only goes so far. You have to be able to pull at the listeners heart strings consistently. They really don't.
My 16 year old asked if we could go to the Houston show in June and now it's up to like 15 of us across multiple families going. Can't wait. In a completely random encounter at Universal Orlando I ended up talking to Hetfield for about 10 minutes waiting on a ride. Cool dude. Told him "uno mas" was on the bucket list. The Black Album is pop trash for losers who aren't really headbangers. It's the only Metallica album I own.

Ride the Lightning alone has one of the best A sides of any metal album. The B side is no slouch.
That's just one album.
