I mean it sucks it has to wait till 2027, but I am glad it's happening. The article mentions the advocacy work of David Leitch (directed The Fall Guy) as one of the forces that really got this done. I personally loved that movie and really liked the post credits attention given to the stunt performers. At the very least it will mean getting to watch some pretty gnarly action clips during the awards show.

This will lead Tom Cruise to extend the MI franchise to have a better shot at an Oscar.

The only thing left is best animal actor.

Which would kill every year ratings wise.

Will this be for the movie with the best overall stunt work? Or the best individual stunt?

Looks like best overall stunt work for a film and not an individual award. They have released the specifics yet and probably won't till next year

Love this, really curious to see the criteria. Early potential nominees…Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning, Havoc (directed by The Raid director Gareth Evans), Ballerina…

I used to work with a girl, her dad was a stunt double on Yellowstone.

Yep, that was mind blowing on the big screen...can't remember the last time I was so in awe over the amount of intense action on display in a movie.
