Just watched the first episode and if this is how the season is going to go, it's back to what made this show great. Super ****ed up
I had to stop watching halfway through the first episode. Too depressing.
Parkour and eating a good burger… fun little Office and Parks and Rec references with Rashida Jones

The average solid black mirror episode is one that makes me queasy, depressed, question life, and never want to watch another one.
Episode 1 might be one of the best of the entire series. What a ****ing depressing episode that was so incredibly well acted
Common People is an episode I can relate to…every product moving to a subscription model.
Good lord, that first episode was a total ass kick.
LOL was that the one with the pig? I am so glad that wasn't my first impression of the show. No way I would have watched another episode. Crazy strategy leading off with that one...still not sure what they were thinking. I am assuming they went with the "shock value"/"any pub is good pub" approach, but there are tons of people that would not have continued the show for another minute had they seen that one first.YouBet said:

Yes, and there was just no way for me to continue after that. Also, considering some of the themes from this show have started to become reality I just don't want the added depression from it.
I knew exactly where episode 1 was going when she explained the procedure. I was waiting for him to kill her Of Mice and Men style and then go ape **** on the Rivermind office.
Crazy, because almost svery single episode after that one was great. And there were no other weird/gross/perverted ones...it was an outlier for sure. I don't blame you for stopping, just assuring you that episode simply does not fit AT ALL with the rest of the series. while utterly depressing, the first episode was prototypical Black Mirror storytelling.
Episode 2 (Bete Noir) reached a bit with the twist.
Episode 3 (Hotel Reverie) was way too long in the tooth, and a poor attempt not to copy San Junipero from a few years back
Halfway through Episode 4, and not at all interested in the backstory of another computer game episode.
Maybe Eps 5 and 6 are better?

Yeah, I was thinking that it is a shame that San Junipero was so popular as I absolutely hated that one and it seems they try to constantly recreate it or bring in elements of it when they can.normalhorn said:

I thought ep 6 was great, but maybe a bit of a fan service type episode as it is the sequel to the episode with Fat Todd, but this time with Meth Todd.
Ep 5 was okay, but it was a bizarro How I met Your Mother, without the humor
I would rank them:
- 6 (USS Callister: Into Infinity)
- 1 (Common People)
- 5 (Eulogy)
- 2 (Bete Noire)
- 4 (Plaything)
- 3 (Hotel Reveire, although I fell asleep during this one and haven't attempted to rewatch)

Plaything the best story of the season so far imo.
Enjoyed 2-3.
