I can remember spending that Friday night at a party in Dallas and everyone was glued to the TV watching MTV News coverage of it It was a Pike party, and everyone was drinking Mickey's Malt Liquor. They were unusual for an SMU frat (a couple of high school friends were members).

This. It's not interesting. He had major, major issues. Prone to massive depression. Debilitating stomach pain. A previous serious suicide attempt. Went the pill route, that didn't work. Went for certainty this time.
And she had way too many issues of her own to pull it off and keep it perfectly quiet. Too many junkies with loose lips. I don't buy the conspiracy. You know where else there is $$$? Selling conspiracy theories.

Honestly, I am way more fascinated with the psychology of conspiracy theorists than most of the theories themselves. Sometimes bad, random, seemingly pointless things happen, trying to assign them meaning or blame is a wasted exercise. But it seems necessary for some.
If you read the actual info from the case and not the click bait stuff, there's almost zero doubt as to what happened and why.
