People only think of Rupert Holmes for the song "Escape" (the Pina Colada song), but I actually like his songs "Him" & especially "Answering Machine" better…

I cannot agree. I gave those a listen. They're definitely cheesy, but they are more in line with typical modern cheesy country.

Cocaine country dancing has a certain cool factor to it while still being cheesy.

Escape (The Pina Colada Song) is my choice - for cheesiest cheesy song. Love that tune.
