Still one of my favorite weekends of the year and I imagine we will go just because we can practically walk to the festival but I have to go a ways down the lineup to find somebody I would go see on their own. Fall sports at the beer tent always good. Throwing a football with the boys listening to music and people watching in the field as well. Getting to leave at 6:30 because I don't need to see the headliners is another bonus for the almost 50 year olds.

I'd see The Strokes, Rilo Kiley, Modest Mouse, Cage, Car Seat Headrest, and Gregory Alan Isakov of that list

Not as strong as last year, especially on the headliners, but there's enough there that I'll probably make the trek.

Deepest lineup in years IMO. Will be getting a 3-day for the first time in a while.

Goodness, what a mediocre lineup. I may be a xennial, but I know good music. That is garbage.

Last ACL we went to was in 2010, headlined by the Eagles, and there were so many good acts there. Was also the first year they did it in the fall and the Oct weather was incredible.

Super cool the Rilo Kiley is on tour again. I've seen Jenny Lewis a handful of time and she puts on one hell of a show. Aside from her music being great, she really knows how to command a stage.

Agree with all those. Also love Sam Barber and looking forward to RKS, Dr Dog, Briscoe (really fun). Also good to see Aggie Dylan Gossett (he was in college gameday) in there.

Just that of the headliners and the first line of the lineup the only ones i know are the Strokes and Cage and probably wouldn't personally go out of my way for either. I understand it is probably more me than the lineup.

I do always find new music that I end up loving. Goose from two years ago has been a staple since.

On a coincidental note, my Apple Music station just played Goose for the 1st time last week and I've been going down that rabbit hole.

I am seeing them in Phoenix next week. Thought I would never get the opportunity so I am stoked. I have loved Jenny for decades now.

Always wanted to see the strokes. Then Djo, dr. Dog, phantogram, MM and cage the elephant. Fun factor with Doechii, T-Pain and empire are an added bonus. Discovering new artists is also fun.

Already purchased my 3 day. Will be my 20th year in a row to go. I didn't care for last year's lineup too much, but think I may like this one slightly better.

that was a great one. everyone was evacuating Houston because of Rita, so we used that as an excuse to go to Austin.

That was my first time to see Black Keys live. Incredible the sound they put out as a three piece set.

Yep. Wife just told me we already have W1 tickets. First was 2004 and haven't missed since although I frequently skip Saturday for A&M football games if I cannot schedule around them.

I'm always laying on the floor in the beer tent for Aggie football.

I think it was just Patrick and Dan live back then for The Black Keys, but I could be wrong. Back when they were better and still a raw blues rock band before going the arena route.

2005 was arguably the greatest ACL Fest lineup ever. I think they pushed it to October not long after that year, not that I cared how freaking hot it was after getting outta Houston before Hurricane Rita hit.

According to Google Gemini AI:

Determining the "best" ACL Fest lineup is subjective, but 2009 and 2014 are frequently cited as having strong lineups. 2009, in particular, is often mentioned for its rainy and muddy atmosphere, which many found reminiscent of Woodstock. 2014 is praised for including a diverse range of bands, with some now-prominent acts appearing in smaller roles.

I can confidently say that 2009 was not it. I was there and that was the dillo dirt ACL. Nothing worse than hearing Dave Matthews singling "....crash...into mEeeEEeeE...!" while everyone was sliding around in poo at night.

That lineup was good. I still remember being at The Decemberists in the rain before the DMB show and I told my wife who is a huge DMB fan I would fly her anywhere she wanted to go to see Dave if we could just get out of there. We stayed.

2009 was the last year I attended the festival and distinctly remember how muddy it was from the two previous days. We posted up on the main stage for Clutch, The Dead Weather, and Pearl Jam and never left because it was too much of a hassle to walk around.

2014 was an absolute jam but the best show that year was Turnpike. The year before I swore I would never see them again because Evan was so drunk on stage two shows in a row. Since I was already there and didn't have anything big at the same then we went over to see them and they were perfection. Still one of the best shows I have ever seen. It has obviously been up and down since then
