Anyone get a chance to read his book - My effin Life or see his bass player interview/documentary? Looking for a Rush fix!

I read his book last year. The chapters covering the holocaust were tough.

His new song "Gone" is pretty good - I think it actually charted in the UK.

I'm a Rush nut so yes to all the above. His book was great, and the Massey Hall video of Geddy and Alex discussing the book during his book tour and telling stories was awesome, I wish it had been 5 hours long.

My brother got me the Big Beautiful Book of Base for my birthday after it came out if that helps.

"I Am, You Are" features Ben Mink, who played violin on "Losing It".

I still listen to "My Favorite Headache" from time to time. I wish he would do more projects. Alex has been much more prolific outside of Rush than Ged. His new band Envy of None is worth a listen.

Yeah true, not only the two EoN albums but he's played on a crap-ton of albums with everyone from Rik Emmett to Don Felder in the last several years. It's kind of amazing Alex can still even play considering his arthritis. Also cool to hear that when Metallica was in Toronto a couple weeks ago Rob and Kirk spent a couple nights with Alex just hanging out and jamming for fun.

So what did Alex do with Rik Emmett? Don't think I've heard it. I know Alex was a guest on his Beyond Borders track that was a plastic record in an '80s Guitar Player magazine.

Is this the guy from that Pavement song?

Thanks! Can't believe I'd missed that before. Rik has been one of my favorite guitarists forever, with Triumph and solo.

I had the good fortune to see Rik solo unplugged at a private show at Stan's Blue Note Poor David's Pub many years ago. One of the best shows I've ever been to.

He did two songs with Rik on his RES9 album, The Human Race which was already posted, and also the much harder rocking (especially the two minute outro) End of the Line. You can also see Alex a bit in the short album trailer. Plus, they also worked together on a guitar workshop in the 2000s.

Since I mentioned Beyond Borders, I found it online:

Whoa, there's some really nice fretwork happening in End of the Line! Very cool, thanks!

I don't know if it's on You Tube or not , but AXS TV does those (sometimes awkward) Dan Rather interviews with rock stars, and there's a good one with Ged out there. Check it out.

Here's a partial I found.

I've seen much if not all of that interview on YouTube. It's really good.

Geddy narrates the audiobook version. Hearing the Yiddish and Polish adds to the emotional impact of his parents' Holocaust stories.

The House of Strombo interview with Dirk and Lerxst is great.
