This is a preview of the upcoming episode. Wasn't sure where to post this but thought here'd be a good place. Looks like it is going to be wide ranging and in depth.
God loves you so much He'll meet you where you are. He also loves you too much to allow to stay where you are.

One of my favorite podcasters. The recent one with Tim Tebow was very eye opening.

Watching the Holy Wars vid as I came across this.

Dave is still a badass.

Whoa, energy fields…

There's a part in the Holy Wars video that has to be the Khobar Towers in Saudi Arabia.

Looking forward to watching the podcast. I always enjoy listening to what Dave Mustaine has to say.

His turn to Christianity was prompted in no small part by seeing the evil work of hexes.

In the end it's good Lars got him kicked out, because we got 2 bands, but it was wrong of them to take his riffs like that.

Man, loved this interview! So happy to see how his life has turned out, that he's turned to Christ fully and that he and his family are in such a good place. Good call on not moving to Austin...and will definitely dive into his family's wine.

I'm enjoying Billy's interviews. Having plenty of fame himself, he connects with many of these guests on a much more personal level since he was in that world.

Really interesting interview. I've liked Dave for a long time. I'm not a metal expert but I do enjoy it in the right mood.

After hearing the interview I've started diving into Megadeths catalogue. While I also like Metallica, is it fair to say that Megadeth is better at metal? I'm not a guitarist, and only a remedial drummer. But Megadeth seems to be all around more proficient.

well dave wrote all metallica songs before 1986, so that's an interesting take.

What do you mean? I knew he wrote some of Ride the Lightning. Kill em All as well? But he doesn't actually appear on any albums, right?

I'm talking about technical skill. It sounds like Megadeth songs require a higher skill level, that's all. It's pretty evident that Dave has employed more skilled drummers that play at a higher difficulty than Lars.

I still love Metallica.

I don't know how old you are but it is fact that Mustaine wrote the major riffs for many of the early Metallica hits. In fact, I believe it was the 3rd Metallica album before they got to one that was Mustaine free.

It's been a long running battle and I think Metallica finally gave Mustaine writing credit but not the publishing royalties.

I can't remember all the details but it's well known. In this interview, Dave talks about some of it.

I think about it as Metallica making better music, but Megadeth making better metal.

Uh, that's kinda what I said lol. I guess it makes sense that Metallica would sound less metal without Dave.

That's a good take. Metallica is more palatable to rock fans. But Dave has stayed more true to metal through all 16 albums (for what I've heard so far).
I probably prefer James's vocals.
I love Megadeth's drums. A lot more double kick it seems.

I'm about 2 hours in and Dave is talking about meeting his wife.

Back in Australia, I knew a lady probably 10 years older than me whose daughter I coached in softball. One day, we're talking and she made mention about how she used to live in LA and dated this rock and roller. She said, you probably haven't heard of him but his name is Dave Mustaine. I told her that I knew who we was and enjoyed Megadeth but I didn't tell her how much of a fan I was.

I'd kind of filed that memory away but this talk about Dave meeting his wife reminded me about this lady I knew who claimed to have been his girlfriend (I don't know exactly when).

After some internet searching, I found this video clip which identifies Dave's girlfriend as a lady named "Vicky". So... I guess she was telling the truth (I never really doubted her).

say what you want about post 80s Metallica, but in my opinion megadeth did not come close to what Metallica did in the 80s. They wrote the book on that sub genre of metal. Between 83 and 86.

Vinnie Colaiuta played on a Megadeth album. Any band that a former Zappa drummer played with has chops cred.
